Hip hip hooray 👏👏👏 this is an incredibly promising day for the future of healthy homes in Australia... to think it was this time only three years ago that I was going through hell as I first started to navigate my way through mould illness (chronic inflammatory response syndrome) without the support I so desperately needed from my doctors, and everyone around me thinking I had gone mad... there are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people in Australia still going through this hell... hopefully this news that this issue is now being recognised and addressed at the highest level gives them hope that what probably feels like a never ending nightmare, will come to an end, their problems will be heard, their illness will be recognised as legitimate, they will not be put in the loony bin. There is a heck of a lot of work to be done, to get building regulations changed, to educate the medical community, to get CIRS recognised by health insurers, to the rights of tenants to have mould issues addressed. But the fact we have come so far in this short time fills me with hope and I’m looking forward to doing my bit to bring about this much needed change. Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the work that needs to be done with regard to the Health of our homes.. but, one battle a time! Congratulations @lucywicksmp
on getting this off the ground. And to the people that have shared their stories. it took me 2 years to start talking openly about my experience for fear of being ostracised.
