1938. “I believe in the power of one. I’m a strong believer in the power of one.” Faisal Imami believes that one person has the ability to change the world; however, the most important impacts on his life have been made by two people - his parents. As a kid, he didn’t pay much attention to their stories, but as he grew older, Faisal began asking more questions and learned that his dad immigrated to the U.S. from Kuwait while his mom escaped the struggles of war and moved here from Afghanistan. Inspired by their stories, he began wondering what he could take away from the tales of everyone else’s lives around him. Thanks to this interest coupled with his love of yielding lessons from authors like @mitchalbom
, Faisal started his own podcast, @onewordonehour
, in which he sought to collect takeaways from the most important words in people’s lives. He started the podcast last August after graduating with his Communications degree from @sandiegostateuniversity
and has since then recorded about 24 episodes, including one with me today (my word: sonder)! Going forward, Faisal plans to continue learning through his podcast, intends to write his own book, and anxiously awaits starting his new job this Monday within the PR industry! So nice to meet you and best of luck, @faisal.imami

How we met: Faisal came across my project via his friend, who ultimately found me through @yestheory
, and then DM’ed me to meet!
