There is a hefty amount of research supporting the multiple positive effects self-compassion has on our wellbeing and health, such as; greater life satisfaction, interconnectedness with others, emotional intelligence, curiosity, wisdom, optimism, and happiness.
Self-compassion is also associated with less fear, anxiety, depression, self-criticism, perfectionism and fear of failure (Neff, 2009). Practice self-love through your thoughts, words and actions, treat yourself like you would someone you love, and don't forget to be kind to others! It's a two way street. Have a great day✌️🌞

Do you foam roll?
It’s like having your own massage therapist in your home and it’s more affordable than a massage!
I disliked it till I tried it more than once 🙋🏻♀️ I’ve learned from my trainer that when you apply pressure and roll, it helps to stretch and massage the tissues in your body. It aids in reducing thickening and tension in your connective tissue and muscle which helps you potentially reduce fatigue, improve muscle recovery and enhance your range of motion. SO MANY BENEFITS! It may feel uncomfortable especially when you first begin, but it means your body really needs it! Start slow, and ease your way into it, doing about 30 seconds of rolling back and forth in one area of your body.
I roll for about 20 minutes a day, after exercising, just to get the kinks out. If you want me to do a video on how to foam roll, let me know!! 😍🙌🏼💕

One of the things I’m really enjoying about Reformer Pilates at @sky.pilates
is the mind body connection involved.
Similar to the idea of yoga I suppose - moving the reformer in and out smoothly (not so easy 😂) while simultaneously activating different muscles and adding unilateral limb movements requires total focus.
My mind must be in tune with how my body is moving and feeling - it’s quite a cleansing kind of thing and allows me to take a break from the millions of thoughts I usually have running through my head 😌.
I think that finding a way to incorporate these kind of activities into our day is very important for stress management clarity of thoughts.
Another fabulous session yesterday - my favourite new move was the ball in and out thing on my story - this plank movement was also very challenging 😊.
I’m managing to stay on the reformer better than my bike🤣.

Solar storms causing anxiety, fatigue, and powerful energy shifts. Taken from the Elephant Journal - Research has found that geomagnetic storms can have a huge effect on our emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health. Peaks in increased anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, fatigue, and nervousness have been found to coincide with solar activity.
This can be so extreme that many people will feel as though they have entered a new reality as they leave behind their old, outdated thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. The transformation can be so powerful that it can propel people to leave any relationship or dynamic that is causing them pain or destruction.
This is similar to the “ascension flu” that occurs when someone is going through an intense awakening period and their body is transcending from a physical one to a “light body.”
The divine light that radiates toward us during and after solar-flare activity is thought to allow us to move quickly toward ascension, which may cause us to experience any of the following:
> Pressure headaches and general aches and pains, mainly in the stomach (solar plexus) area.
> Flushed, dizzy, or nauseous.
> Having difficulty focusing, experiencing confusion, or having a “foggy mind.”
> Feelings of intense hunger or thirst.
> Extreme fatigue, exhaustion, lack of energy, insomnia, disturbed sleep patterns.
> Seemingly out-the-blue bouts of irritability, frustration, sadness, nervousness, anger, worry, fear, grief, and overwhelm.
> Heightened awareness, enhanced intuition, having insights that seem to appear out of nowhere.
> Premonitions, intense dreams, or nightmares.
> Physiological symptoms may manifest, such as, flu-like symptoms, ear ringing, or aches and pains.
> Frequent anxiety, stress, or feeling panicky without clear reason.
> Temporary loss of memories, forgetting things, misplacing items.
> Seeing and feeling energy such as orbs, sparks, or flashes of light.
> Noticing synchronicities, i.e., certain number patterns reappearing.
> More consciously aware of other people’s energy fields and highly sensitive to negativity.
> Wanting to spend time alone, introspection.

Whenever I explain #IntuitiveEating
recovery, I think of it like this...the mind has all these thoughts and judgements motivated by external values (e.g. what the world says I should eat/weigh, what others eat/weigh, etc). ..
The mind is so focused on controlling the external that there isn't room to hear what our own mind/body need/want.
To move towards intuitive eating, you have to make the thoughts smaller and less intrusive. They may always be there, but you can change how much real estate they get. And maybe our own self can get a foot in the door...
