Change the way you see things to make positive gain If we look at change with a negative mindset we are rejecting all the positives gain that comes with it. So if you think being healthy is boring, expensive, time consuming then find ways to change this mindset. Follow people who can make it easy, who have tips, find recipes online or simply change some habits. For example do you have biscuits or chocolate bar at 3pm everyday? Why not switch this for trail mix or yoghurt and berries. If that fix is normal for you it will take time to retrain your mind. But if you don't try you will never change your mind and lose out on seeing what remarkable things you're capable of. For a few weeks now I've been craving salmon steak, yeah a big one. and here is the result of my cravings, really if it wasn't because my husband is at home. I've eaten his piece too. How to: Cajun baked salmon (cajun seasoning I made my own with not salt) I mixed the seasoning with a little olive oil and salt, then used a silicon brush to marinate the salmon, pre-heat the oven at 350F used a grill pan, when the oven was ready I baked it until the skin was crispy. For the corn salad, corn (grilled or from a can) cherry tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, chile lime from trader joes, olive oil and lemon juice. mix everything and you are done. Deets: put the salmon on top the baby arugula, on the other side put the corn salad, sprinkle the salad with red pepper flakes and ready for the pic. —————————- Updating.. A question I often hear from clients, what’s the deal with macros and micros? Macros, short for Macronutrients are the sources from which we derive calories (energy).⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ There are 3 sources of macronutrients:⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ •Protein⁣⁣⁣⁣ •Fats⁣⁣⁣⁣ •Carbohydrates⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ -We convert carbohydrates into sugar (glucose) in the body. This glucose is then converted into (glycogen) and shuttled into the muscles to provide energy and fuel to the body.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ -The thing about glycogen, is that the muscles can only store so much. ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ -So what happens once your muscle stores are all full and there is no other place for the glycogen aka glucose aka sugar aka carbohydrates to go? It has to go somewhere right? ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ -It stores itself in the subcutaneous layer of fat just below the skin. We also know that carbohydrates by nature DRAW water in, so this explains that if we OVERCARB we feel like bloated beluga whales.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ -The body really doesn’t need a ton of carbohydrates to fill its muscle stores.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ -Once you hit that point of feeling bloated (carb spillover) it is a clear sign that your body is saying it’s reached its threshold and the rest will be stored for use at a later time.⁣⁣ ⁣ -Micros, short for Micronutrients are the sources from which we derive the essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and nutrients from the foods we eat.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ -Micronutrients work in tandem with macronutrients to keep the body functioning and are crucial in order to maintain energy levels, metabolism, cellular function, and physical and mental wellbeing.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ -The issue with the standard American diet is over consumption of foods high in CALORIES, but devoid of micronutrients.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ -The body NEEDS a wide range of macronutrients to work optimally, and if it does not receive what it needs after eating a meal, it will send a signal to your brain that you’re still hungry. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ -The fact is that you are not hungry, you have consumed more than enough MACRONUTRIENTS, but you have not received the MICRONUTRIENTS that your body needs to feel satiated.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ -What’s the cure?⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ -Derive your calories from high quality, all natural sources of macronutrients.⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

I taught fitness classes for 10 years and thought I was pretty “healthy”! So I was shocked when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2009. After an intense 14 hour surgery it grew back. 😔 I was devastated because the recovery was so hard and I knew I could not go through that again! Even Dr. Thompson said he could not do that again! 😳 So I had radiation. After 27 rounds it appeared to grow again. 😭 We were all so upset but it finally stopped growing and even shrunk slightly after a month of focused prayer. 🙏 That’s when I started researching nutrition for health and prevention of illness. Friends had asked to me to sell their products, but they were mostly focused on weight loss, filled with caffeine and herbs. I was so thankful a caring nurse, Rebecca Dorton, shared concentrated food powders with me. It was the micronutrients from fruits and vegetables, all the water and sugar taken out. It sounded so simple. I went to an event and I learned how it was made and how this could help me and my family be healthier. I wanted this for my children.
