Meal prep - our lunches for the week - chicken, broccoli, and quinoa. Not my fav but it’ll do 🤷🏻♀️ hubby loves chicken though so he’s excited ☺️ Gotta stay prepared 💪🏼
As consumers seeking out ways to improve your health and yes - lose weight, if anyone is prescribing pills, ‘detox teas’, some magic machine that “loosens your fat” or some other form of treatment which doesn’t require for them to counsel you, educate you, guide you - it should make you weary.
If your healthcare practitioner (within whichever specialty) is insisting that you only purchase a specific brand or a specific product - that should make you weary too.
For instance, they may deem it necessary that you have a Vitamin C supplement as part of your daily diet but if they insist that you only have a specific one, there should be a tiny red flag in your mind going off right then.
Almost daily, I have at least 7-10 companies reaching out to me pleading (no exaggeration here - I get chased incessantly) that I try samples of their product and recommend those to my clients in exchange for an incentive share.
One company even offered a generous, generous amount of revenue (10 times more than my first salaried job) in exchange for making them an ‘Ad Manager’ on my Facebook page so that their questionable product can display on the right hand corner as an ad.
In fact, they went so far as to ensure me that no one will ever know that I have anything at all to do with the brand, the company or their extremely scammy, scientifically invalidated product. They just needed access to my page and were willing to pay a premium for it.
As a sole proprietor, it’s often hard to say no to this kind of money but I am idealistically (and hopefully not foolishly) rooting for integrity over everything else.
But when I see people around me fall prey to ridiculous scams, my heart breaks every single time. For the trillionth time guys, there is no shortcut. You’ll lose weight if you eat simple, clean food, get some exercise, get restful sleep and not let stress get to you.
These four pieces are so vast and diverse and have so much specificity embedded within them that I’ve managed to make a career out of it. To conclude, be wise, be smart, seek out the right information and for your own sake, please don’t give your time, energy, money and peace of mind to silly scams! 🙏
Walking on the beach inspires me to make better choices. Almost everyday I see something different washed up. Today: an old, worn down trainer. How do you choose your trainers? Adidas make some out of recycled plastic but are any other brands making moves in the right direction?
