Feeling comfortable and safe is what most of us search for, openly or secretly. Sticking to the familiar gives us that. We find ease and protection in staying with the 'who, what, when, where, why, & how' that we already know of. And there is nothing wrong with that. It is desirable. It is cosy. The problem comes when inside we know something has to change but we fear the unknown. We convince ourselves to stay on in an unhappy relationship because it is what we "know". Sometimes we dont know how to function without it and so we can't muster up the courage to face the reality and make a change. We stay in an unsatisfying job because we fear the uncertainty of something new and can't risk losing what we have. It's the same with places, activities, friends, things, and even goals and dreams. We choose to keep what we have because we've had it for so long. Inside we always know when change is needed but the thought of change hurts mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Our mind and body's job is to keep us safe, away from harm. So it doesn't allow us to break away from routine, to subtract something, to add something. The start is the hardest because you have to fight your own mind and body. And it's the scariest, hardest, most hurtful thing to do. But once you take those first few steps it becomes easier. The universe has more for you. That little voice in your heart.... not that doubting voice in your head.... no, that little voice in your heart, that inbuilt intuition cannot fail you. IN ORDER FOR YOU TO GET WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE, CHANGE HAS TO HAPPEN. Healthy change, intentional change, focused change. That is something you want to look back at and say, "that was worth it!"
