As I binged late last night on a entire Lily's chocolate bar, scooping up almond butter with every bite, I realized today is a fresh start. I thought about why some people don't seem to struggle at all with cravings, hunger pangs, or the strong desire to eat at all times of the day. I wondered why I could follow the keto guidelines and not lose weight unless I was super strict with calories by only eating meat and veggies and leaving out the fat. I searched on the web for answers and did come up with something that made sense to me, knowing me and my body, and is possibly an answer...leptin resistance. ➡️To be leptin resistant means your leptin levels are high. You may be overweight, but your brain doesn't see it and is starved for food. There's a whole lot more that goes into it, like thyroid issues, etc. Anyway, I don't really have a definitive plan on how to deal with this. If I want to follow the leptin diet, I'm to change my macros to 60:20:20, 60 being fat. I'm also not supposed to create large calorie deficits and should change how I work out (if I actually did work out 😂) by doing HIIT workouts. It seems long walks or runs are counterproductive. ➡️Today I planned a slightly higher carb day...36 carbs. I can eat a banana to hit my 59 carb limit (Mmmm, a banana!! 😋), but I'll only do that if I'm craving food. I should start working out on a regular basis, but I'm just not there yet.🙄 I also still have Carb Manager set at a loss of one pound weekly. But the best part of the carb increase? NO MORE KETO RASH!!! 🤗
➡️Btw, I'm down 2 lbs somehow, despite the binging. Go figure!! 😂
➡️On the off chance that this totally backfires, it won't be that difficult to decrease carbs again. We shall see!
