I just had a little impromptu rant on my story, but I felt it needed to be brought into the spotlight. It’s a question many of us curlies think about... Why is curly, and more importantly, natural hair viewed as ugly/untidy/unprofessional/rampant and much more?
This just happens to be the way our hair grows, why must we try to fit a mould or standard that’s based on traditional “white people” hair? My hair is mine, it belongs to me - I don’t need or want any of your comments (unless they’re nice or out of genuine curiosity). My hair is part of my heritage, and I am proud of that.
And whatever it is you think about natural hair, maybe ask yourself which fact you base it on, why do you think that, and do you know the actual truth about it.
Lastly, do NOT touch people’s anything, including hair unless they’ve told you it’s okay!
I am not an animal in a petting zoo!
(I’m going to stop now, because I worked myself up thinking about past “incidents).
