It was soo hot today. I am sweating while sitting still in our apartment. Didn’t feel like eating anything but fruit and yogurt today (cold, sweet, creamy) because of that heat. I relied a lot on protein powder today 😅

I haven’t posted to this account since 2016. It’s now 2018 and I’ve finally made progress. I’ve lost 30 pounds since my highest recorded weight. I’ve lost a little over 20 pounds since March and these are the face gains from that. Same snap filter, different hair and zero makeup. I thought I would vent some things here. To be honest, I haven't been on track for losing weight since the beginning of this year. In fact I've been eating out more now than I ever have and I have gained quite a bit. Even still I'm over -30lbs from my highest weight. I've watched the scale creep up and it makes me sick to my stomach. How could I let this happen again after all of my hard work? I don't know what's wrong with me but I feel more drained every day. I'm losing my desire to cook because of the mess I have to clean up afterwards. I've lost my drive and I'm trying really hard to find it again, but we all know the hardest part of anything is starting. I'm sure some of you guys have been in this situation.. How do you get out of the rut? -

8 years ago I started the same journey I’m on now. I don’t remember exactly when I started, but I started at the same weight I was this time around. My timehop tells me that 8 years ago I was down 11.8 pounds, so I officially weigh less than I did 8 years ago. In my journey 8 years ago, I ended up losing 40 pounds but then I became more relaxed and slowly gained it all back (it took years). ———————————————-
I still have a long way to go to where I want to be, but I don’t ever want to go back to where I was last July.

When I'm not loving my progress, when the scale doesn't move (or worse, goes up!), and when I feel defeated, it's important for me to remember where I was this time last year. Not a monumental difference, but the fact is that I am stronger now than I was this time last year.
Working on myself is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. It's critical, though. And the reward is worth it.

Two years ago, I was training to run in my very first 5k. I spent the whole summer working up from couch potato to running (shuffling) a 5k for autism. I remember when I first started, when I attempted to go for a jog I couldn’t even make it past my neighbor’s mail box. So I started small, walking a mile, two miles, three miles a day. Then I walked faster and focused on beating the time from the day before. When I started incorporating jogging into the mix, I started with one mile followed by walking two. Then I was jogging two and walking one. Before I knew it, I was jogging the entire thing. NEVER IN MY LIFE, have I jogged for more than 11 or 12 minutes at a time. It really made me realize that we set our own barriers mentally and can prove ourselves wrong just by believing ourselves. Right now my feet ache everyday from the weight I’ve gained but I know that now that I’ve incorporated walking into my routine that soon I’ll be running again and breaking my own personal records.
