"One large Americano." You looked up from the counter to see Captain fucking America standing in front of you. "Uh, yeah, I'll get that for you." You didn't bother taking his name, knowing he was trying to be subtle. Your fingers brushed his as you put the change in his hand. As he sat down, you took your sharpie and wrote "tall blonde cutie" with a heart and your phone number. Obviously, he must get things like this every day, but the only reason you were chancing it was because you knew you'd never see him again. When his coffee was ready, you took a deep breath and called out, "Large Americano for the tall blonde cutie?" You saw him walk over sheepishly with red cheeks. "Thank you," he said quietly, before taking the cup and leaving the coffee shop. Your friend Becca had watched the whole thing and grabbed your shoulder. "Holy shit! You just hit on Captain America!" She whisper-yelled at you. You laughed, realizing how crazy it was. "I know! And did you see him blush?!" You responded, matching her volume. You both lost it and had to take your breaks outside, laughing and gushing about how cute he looked. "He probably didn't even see what I wrote on the cup," you said. Just then, out of perfect irony and timing, you got a text from a new number. It read, 'Hey, it's the Tall Blonde Cutie from the coffee shop.' Your laugh stopped, and your jaw dropped. "I- Captain America just texted me," you managed to get out, making Becca's eyes widen hugely. "Holy shit no way!" She yelled. 'Oh hey! I'm sorry if I embarrassed you earlier, I just didn't think you wanted your name announced in the shop.' you texted back, Becca watching over your shoulder like a hawk. 'it's fine! I'm just not used to being called cute. Anyways, would you like to get dinner some time?' It took you a while to process the message, as you stared blankly at the screen. 'that sounds great! I get off tonight at seven, if you'd like to meet me at the shop.' you typed out with shaking hands. Holy shit. Did you just get asked on a date by Captain America?!
