New quality standard for judging your workouts... How many times can you ring out your shirt!
So, this was written on the door of the women’s bathroom at my photo shoot yesterday. I couldn’t help but take a pic of it. The word is why with a heart around it.
It made me stop and think why I do the things I do day in and day out. Well, I stick to my journey because it is not a fad diet it is a lifestyle. I am building the best version of me daily. From my workouts, meditation, superfoods to naps it is giving my body what it needs to be the BEST!
And I share that journey with all of you in hopes to inspire you everyday to do the same and join ME to #getkaylean

I’m away at a class for a month, and the on post gyms close a little too early for me, so I went to a regular gym in town. I got in a nice shoulder workout, and lifting was exactly what I needed after some stressful class days.
Going to regular, off post gyms is now a little weird for me. As I’ve tried to incorporate more heavy lifting and functional fitness, I notice more and more that I’m usually the only female who’s doing any sort of upper body. I fully believe in doing whatever type of fitness makes you happy, but it’s also another reminder that when I get back home I need to actually start going to a CrossFit gym, instead of just doing WODs on my own when I can.
Today I learned three very valuable things:
1. 40 thrusters in a row was not something my body was ready for.
2. Do not do walking lunges and/or any barbell work on very uneven ground.
3. I cannot do overhead squats to save my life.

Stop watching others put in the work. Stop wishing you could be leaner, faster, stronger.-
Do you know how many clients I have that kick my ass everyday in Crossfit? Too many to mention. But those that do have put in the time and the effort. They are different bodies with different strengths and weaknesses.-
I don’t dwell on the fact I can’t snatch as much as my client @jericho9
and I don’t dwell on the fact that @ashpash
can squat clean more than me. I don’t dwell on the fact that @mjlankers
can row, DU and push press more than me.-
Instead I focus on what I do well and set goals on skills I want to improve on.-
Comparing yourself to others in terms of looks will crush you. Trying to achieve someone else’s physique is setting yourself up for failure.-
Stay in your lane. Your lane means your body composition and fitness for YOU.-
Don’t forget, the person you admire, they have a story and their story hasn’t been insta strength or insta abs. They have their own challenges and successes.-
Put in the work. Eyes on you. Eyes on the prize, whatever that may mean to you.-
I’m in my home studio, doing some basic strength training for my goals. I’m doing this in addition to Crossfit. It’s a great balance which I’m loving!-

Fix your dumbbell shoulder press technique!

Are you effectively hitting your shoulders with the dumbbell shoulder press? The most common mistake on these is using a shortened range of motion. The lockout uses mostly triceps. Your shoulders are more engaged at the bottom half of the rep. If you’re stopping at parallel, you’re not fully stimulating your shoulders.
While I wouldn’t say hitting the dumbbells together at the top is necessarily incorrect, it’s definitely not helpful. When the dumbbells bounce off of each other, your set will be thrown off a little. Focus on keeping your arms in line with your shoulders and bringing your arms below 90 degrees to fully engage your shoulders.

Adoro fazer treinos em circuito com pesos, são a minha versão de "cardio" ou melhor um treino 2 em 1 que alia os benefícios do trabalho de musculação aos benefícios do Cardio! Aqui o objetivo é a perda de gordura, não a perda de peso, para mim este tipo de treino é sem dúvida a melhor maneira de queimar gordura sem comprometer (queimar a massa múscular) que é o que vai moldar moldar o nosso corpo. Mesmo que os exercícios estejam a ser executados com cargas mais leves, o facto de fazermos os exercícios em sequência, faz com que essas cargas se tornem muito mais pesadas..
