What do you want *MOST* for your kids in life? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For most it’s “happiness” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And as parents we work hard to make our kids ‘happy’
But what if INSTEAD, we stopped trying to make our kids happy and we worked harder on 4 other things?
Tools that will have them grow up to FIND happiness on their own!
1. Respect - to be respectful in all situations. Even when they disagree, or have to be a part of sensitive topics.
2. Hard Working - because there will be a day they grow up and you won’t be there to rescue them, they will have to have the ‘hard working skills’ to accomplish all the things you know they are absolutely capable of at all ages and stages in their lives.
3. Compassionate - not spoiled or self centered. No you will not ruin their childhood with less candy, junk, toys and video games. Let’s teach them to think about the community and the world 🌎
4. To not be afraid to be afraid - if their dreams don’t scare them a little, then they’re not big enough. We often ask our kids “you can do anything in life, what do you want to be?”, our kids will list a few things and us adults don’t have an answer. Teach them to not give up on creating and chasing dreams! Teach them that they don’t ever have to live in a uncomfortable situation and that they never have to stop believing big dreams are possible! Comfort zones and not where personal growth happens, they are a place where big dreams are out of reach. Teach them that always being challenged by the tasks ahead of them and frightened of possibly reaching their goals is the NORM.
These are the kind of steps ahead that breed happiness.
As parents we are the MOST IMPORTANT LEADERS in the whole world! And let me tell you a secret, the way you parent is the way you manage your life, your business, your relationships, your opportunities, your finances etc..
It’s never to late to work on and ACT OUT our own happiness steps...Respect, Hard Working, Compassion and Afraid, in order to set up our Little’s for a happier future!
