Hating all forms of deadlift right now. It may just be from not using a belt, but sumo and conventional both feel terrible. Still trying to power through though. 405 for some triple, then 455x1, then 225 for some defecit stiff legs. Heavy squatting has become an issue for me. I’ve strained my left hip flexor and it hasn’t been the same since. Let’s talk about warming up! . There are two main types of exercises people do when they think of warming up: . Dynamic exercises include movement & a range of motion, such as leg swings or arm circles. . Static exercises are what you think of doing when you stretch, like touching your toes. . Although both can be beneficial, you should be focusing more on DYNAMIC warm-ups, which are essential for: . -increasing oxygen & blood flow . -reducing the risk of injury . -activating the muscles . -increasing mobility & flexibility . In other words, dynamic warm ups will help get your blood pumping to the appropriate muscles which will prime them for your workout. . Now, I know a lot of you babes out there are wanting to grow that booty 😉 amiright? . Well, a great way to do that is to activate your glutes before leg day! . This way, you’re glutes are fired up & ready to go when you start your actual workout. . Meaning you’ll be focusing on growing the peach rather than letting those dang quads do all the work like they normally do! . A few of my favorite glute activation exercises are: . -donkey kicks . -standing hip abduction . -pulse sumo squats . -glute bridges . The dreaded leg day happened yesterday and it went great. Although, if you listen get closely to the video you can hear my knees crackle every time I go up. ••••• Front squats are doing wonders for me and actually takes a lot of the pressure off of my knees and allows me to go deeper and gives me better range of motion. I don’t suffer from the pain of doing back squats and feeling like my knees are going to explode. YES, I know my one knee jiggles in and I consciously try to remember to make them stationery. Leg day went exceptionally well today. • 3x6 at at 305lbs (75%). I’ll readily admit that I’ve never even attempted this set/rep scheme with anything over 305. The first 3 sets felt so good I did a 4th at 315 and that still felt good. I don’t think I’ve ever done 6 reps at 315 before either. A day of firsts all around. After this, did a ton of varied lunges and several sets of good mornings. ‘Twas a great leg day. • Major credit to @hybridperformancemethod. I’m switching back and forth between the push-only program and the squat protocol. After not squatting more than half a dozen times for 15+ weeks, my legs are feeling better every day. Strength came back fast and I’m pushing numbers for reps/sets that I’ve never attempted before. The biggest thing Hybrid has given me is the mental strength and the understanding that my body is capable of more than my brain thinks. I’ve learned how to push through what used to be final rep and get 2, 3, or 4 or more reps. Love this programming and definitely recommend it to anyone who might not have a good plan. • Fueled by @redcon1 #TotalWar , the best preworkout on the market. Descubre el error. Swipe right! Un error común en sentadilla: Inestabilidad. 😱 El hacer una sentadilla. Por más simple que el movimiento parezca. Existen ciertos criterios que siempre deben de seguirse independientemente de qué proporciones tenga la persona. 1 - Pies siempre deben estar totalmente plantados en el suelo. (Ni de puntas ni de talones). 2 - La barra debe de moverse de manera vertical ( de arriba a abajo siguiendo una línea imaginaria) 3 - Va a existir una flexión de cadera y de tobillo proporcionales entre sí. En el caso de ella. Tiene piernas más largas comparado con tren superior. Por ende. Su sentadilla la obliga a inclinarse más hacia adelante. El problema surge cuando ( primer y segundo vídeo) ella avienta la cadera para atrás al iniciar el descenso. Cargando su peso a los talones y evitando una flexión de tobillo hasta casi al final del movimiento. 😨 En el tercer video, después de hacerla consciente y darle una indicación que estaría pensando durante toda la sentadilla. ("Rodillas - Cadera") se ve cómo ella comienza haciendo flexión en ambas partes y no solamente en la cadera. Dando como resultado una trayectoria más eficiente. 😁 - ¿Qué es lo importante de todo esto?📒 Comúnmente vemos personas hacer la sentadilla cómo su intuición les da a entender. De ésta forma lograrán hacer una progresión pero no durará mucho. Causando problemas en rodillas, tobillo o hasta en cuello y espalda.
