⏰ Splitting things across an AM and PM session today - something I’m lucky to have the luxury of doing (but being forced into doing through a hectic schedule).
That’s placing my main compounds or the muscle group I’m prioritising in the earlier session, then isolation work/less important muscle groups later in the day.
I’ve done this through choice before when volume has been higher, allowing me to attack the AM and PM sessions with more energy, hopefully increasing total volume/intensity. Mainly as I didn’t have time to increase total number of training sessions per week, so increased volume across 2 upper and 2 lower sessions...that meant A LOT of volume per session...that wasn’t ideal where performance was concerned.
Rather than a session lasting upwards of an hour and flagging by those later exercises (less volume/intensity), id have more energy to direct to both sessions...mo potential volume...mo potential gains.
This time though, I’m busy. And only had chance to fit in dips, monkey shrugs, chest press and rack BOR.
Leaving curls, pushdowns, pulldowns, more curls, more extension of the arms and some direct delt work for this aft.
