Introduced hip CARS followed by 90/90 PAILS and RAILS to induce an increase in rotational hip capacity
Hip CARS utilized to :
-Screen for articular motion
-Engage mechanoreceptors in end-range motion (maintain ROM with affarent input)
-Increase articular health and longevity
-Rehabilitate through our natural anti-inflammatory : movement
PAILS and RAILS used next to EXPAND range of motion by allowing us to build strength and adaptation in both progressive and regressive ranges. This enables us to TEACH the nervous system how to control the newly acquired range so that our brain doesn't shut it off as soon as it feels unsure of movement variation. ⚡
Using markerless objective screening technology @kinetisense
, we were able to see an increase of almost 15 degrees of internal rotation on the right hip after our work.
Felt like a 🐌 today.
So today’s work took awhile.
Mobility warm up then:
A1 - 6 rounds of pull ups.
B1 - dbl bell front squat
B2 - SLDL
B3 - half kneeling press L/R
B4 - ab wheel roll outs
C1 - 5 rounds of snatches .

Little leg day strength and cardio circuit 👌💪 *Kb goblet squat to deadlift 15 reps
*Box jumps 30 seconds *Side walks with band and dumbbell 15 reps
*Box hop over 30 seconds *Back lunge on bench with bicep curl 15 reps
*lunge jumps 30 s
*hamstring curl with Swiss ball 15 reps
*lateral band hops 30 seconds

lately. Why? It’s a unilateral movement that improves shoulder, core and hip stability, all while challenging coordination and mobility. Plus they’re fun!! 😎 If you’re starting, try unweighted before adding a light weight, or focus on the first 2-3 steps for a great core exercise. Keep your eye on the weight and work with a coach or buddy to make sure your form is 💯

Only brief I gave her for these was the videogame 'Yakuza'. These are my final pair of trunks for my career. Proud to have been her first client, and stuck with her ever since. I only ever went elsewhere once, whilst she took a brief break, and the quality from elsewhere was poor in comparison.
She and I got to the point where I didn't need to design anything, instead giving a rough brief, or occasional source of inspiration for theming, and letting her creative mind run wild.
Laura makes such fantastic quality gear, always fully lined, hand cut and stitched with care, and full of neat little touches, I have never doubted the ring gear I've recieved from her.
I've always been of the opinion you should look as best you can in the ring, and I've never understood why people go to inferior gear makers who pump out a printed product with no love or care. When people recommend you invest in yourself, look no further.
Thank you very much Laura for making me look good in the ring, even if I wasn't 😂

At times ones flexibility issues is simple a result of their training.
A perfect example is barbell training.
Bilateral movements with both arms and legs moving in one direction, in unison. Rowing, box jumps and double kettlebell/dumbbell work could be thrown in the same bucket. Awesome for developing power and hypertrophy, but all positives carry a sacrifice.
If you are training this exclusively you are going to be a beast moving up and forward, but likely little else. Perhaps this is more than in part why so many of these folks are always “working on their mobility”. After all, there are only certain parts of their mobility they are using... A solution would be to focus on using your mobility more, so you have to “work” on it less.
Throwing in movements where one arm or leg go in different directions is an easy way to accomplish this. Social media is full of big, reaching and flashy movements. These get a lot of “likes”, but I can’t say that in my professional experience it will consistently give you more than just that.
More often than not, keep it simple.
And, simple these two drills are; the kettlebell halo, and alternating offset lunges.
Both involve crossing your midline with a load, and with that two limbs are doing two different things.
The load is there (in this video 35lbs), but it is not huge. Just enough to ask for focus, but allow for repetition.
Give it a try, let me know what you think/how it feels. Perhaps doing things like this a little more will make you feel like you have to “work on your mobility” a little less.
