Let me get sappy for a minute, because my job is the absolute best. When we asked the kid who made this picture about what some of his favorite memories in Boston over the past two months have been, he mentioned me. There’s not a word to describe the way it feels to know that you made a positive difference in a kid’s life while he and his family underwent some of their most challenging days. I am so fortunate to have fallen into this role, and these moments absolutely reassure that I’m possibly the luckiest girl on the planet. #jobsthatmatter #makeadifference #kidart #gogold #findacure #pediatriccancer #boston #allthefeels
Bitter Sweet. I'm a volunteer first aider (well, I haven't been active lately). But I want to be a paramedic - preferably on motorbike, or even a plane, chopper or boat. Something that matters - to help give others an opportunity for a longer life...and of course something that gets the adrenaline a kick. Something that makes me feel life and live in the moment. Unfortunately, I have irreversibly poor vision in one eye which may affect my ability to work. Identity crisis - my career lies in the hands of vision requirements (and my grades of course 😜). Time to find out of I can pursue what I feel is my thing. Ps. @davidjaypalmer
- I will give this idea up once I know indefinitely that I can't physically do it! #detetmination
Congratulations to Peter Lelich for receiving a special scholarship from JCYM Johnson County Young Matrons! Pete is a lead care facilitator at KidsTLC and is pursuing his master's degree in psychology. After witnessing children in his care struggle with school, due to their traumatic backgrounds and the resulting shame, frustration and anger they experienced, Pete knew he had found a meaningful purpose for his life. In order to support the needs of students with disabilities and the ability of teachers to teach these students, Pete hopes to practice as a school psychologist. KidsTLC is honored to have Pete as part of our team and truly transforming lives in our community! Erin Dugan and Pete posed for a picture before enjoying lunch with other team members and the supportive ladies of JCYM. #Scholarship #JobsThatMatter #WorthIt

Shout out to AHRC Nassau Supported Employment Supervisor Natalie Vasquez (center left) and Receptionist Cathy Loquercio (center right) for presenting at the AVRASA Long Island Meeting, a professional development event for rehabilitation counselors and social service professionals at @hofstrau.
The March 2 event focused on "Supported Employment Leading to Successful Outcomes" and offered an opportunity for Cathy to share her experiences on the path to self-direction as well as Natalie to explain the agency's person-centered approach to services. Cheers also to Employment Training Specialist Blake Forseth (left) and Intern Isaac Nahon (right) for coming out to support Cathy and Natalie.
Summer Staff at Mount Hermon means that you can make a difference. Sometimes you make an impact by having a conversation about Jesus. Sometimes it's just by being there to listen. But for a lot of counselors, being at camp means being a role model – being looked up to #whyiworkatcamp

. This is Shannon Hoffman who will be leading our team in all things community building, deepening our nonprofit partnerships, inclusive job creation, and social justice events.
We are re-energized by the beautiful team of humans we have assembled. We work hard to show just how much a small crew can accomplish, through authentic relationships and intentional inclusivity, both in the for-profit and nonprofit space.
We are fueled by the hope that is palpable in our city. We will do our best to share more of that hope that we are fortunate enough to see every single day, thanks to all of you #HopeSlingers
We finished another successful inventory this weekend. I saw a lot of new faces and we finished faster than expected. It's always nice when that happens :D We're always looking for good people to add to the team nationwide. I'd love some company in this 15 passenger van, for any of my local friends who would like to pick up some hours (days, evenings and weekends available!). I like that I'm able to work when Tavo is home so we don't have to worry about childcare. Have I mentioned that you'll get paid travel time, too? #jobsthatmatter #flexiblescheduling #paidtravel #WISintl #getpaidtocountthings #youcountidrive
This morning I woke up early to do an inventory at a salon supply store. They kindly gave us some goodies as a thank you for our work. It's so cool how appreciative the managers are with each inventory we do because our team is so quick and efficient (we were allotted 4 hours and finished in just over 2! :D). If any of my friends are looking for a pt or ft job, we're always looking for good people! #workgoodies #WISinventory #jobsthatmatter #makingadifference
WE ARE HIRING!
Join the Witness for Peace (WFP) Colombia Program for a two-year term of service. International Program volunteers produce documentation of the impacts of U.S. policies and corporate practices, such as articles/blog posts, fact sheets, short videos, and action alerts. Documentation work focuses on the impacts of U.S. policies, such as military aid and free trade agreements. International Program staff also design and plan participatory, experiential educational programs of 10-12 days, which help visiting groups from the U.S. understand and see first-hand the impact of U.S. policies in the region, while also learning about the on-going and multiple strategies of resistance carried out by WFP’s partners in Colombia. Staff accompany groups during these delegations, which motivate delegates to return to the U.S. to participate in campaigns that work for policy changes in these areas, while strengthening cross-border solidarity networks.
Application due: January 3, 2018. Start date: February 7, 2018.
