FIGHT ❤️ GRIND 🧡 REPEAT 💗
It’s been awhile since I went for a run. I didn’t have much time tonight so I did a hard mile at 7:58! ::::
I need to wrap my head around training for my half marathon in October. I need to find my motivation!
Late in the afternoon speed work. Anyone who tells you running on a treadmill is easier isn’t doing it right. Fan blowing, incline set and intervals done.
Funny how you can lose count when you’re only counting to 8. Tonight I used my fingers to count to 8 to make sure I didn’t forget any.
I finally got the go ahead from my PT to join my training group for their long run (5 miles) this Saturday!! 🙌🙌🙌 As much as I’ve enjoyed switching up my workouts and stepping WAY out of my comfort zone (hello, swimming) it’s been 17 days and I am ready to get back to it. I’ve only got 19 weeks to build my base and get back to where I was in January before Rock n Roll AZ so I can get *hopefully* get my sub 4 in Indy. Put in the work, respect the training, respect the race, respect the sport.

Keeping’ the Streak Alive
Two hours ago, I was in tears at the thought of breaking my now 31-day running streak. I was 4.5 hours into what would be a 5.5 hour traffic jam with no signs of being close to home. But, I got home, put the little boy to bed, and just ran my little mile to keep the streak going. Mind you, I had a half defrosted gluten free muffin for dinner. So I’m going to need something when I get back inside. But, I’m SO happy I made it to the gym to sprint out the commute-induced cobwebs.

/ day 20 of #streakingwiththecoolkids
, I made it!)
I guess I needed that rest day yesterday because I nailed tonight’s tempo run!! It was so hot and humid that I think I lost 5 lbs of sweat, but it felt amazing!!
3 miles easy/2 miles at 6:54, 6:56/2 miles easy
My first tempo run of this marathon training cycle and it makes me so excited to keep on working!

Every day is different, right? Today I didn’t get a chance to do my workout until after church. It’s a rest day from running and I contemplated not doing it at all. •
What I get out of this training cycle will be dependent upon what I put in. I decided to put in some effort and knocked out 30 minutes of yoga. •
How do you overcome the “i don’t want to” days??
What's your preference: running as part of a pack/crew, or being a lone wolf?
99.9% of the time I prefer running by myself, especially when I am in a training cycle.
I am accountable for my pace.
I am responsible for my distance.
I am focused on what I need to achieve.
I am in control of what I am doing.
I am owning my results.
But in saying that, running with a crew is SO much fun.
Last night I joined @capitalcityruncrew
- I was so nervous as it's the first group run that I've done in ages. It was lovely meeting new people, meeting IG buddies in person, and catching up with a friend that I've not seen in months.
I ran down to the meet point (2k), then a 3k warm up with the group (I was definitely warmed up by this point), 3k tempo, and a 2k cool down home. Had I not run with the group, I would not have run 10k!!
I'm planning to incorporate more group runs into my schedule. Its good to have fun and mix things up.
A cool 64 degrees in SF!🌁 I’ll take it! 5.5 weeks till @thesfmarathon
got me thinking how grateful I am for my healthy body especially with all my long work hours and work travel. I’m doing what I can when I can but it’s hard not to feel mentally fatigued when gearing for a work out or long run.😔 I’m constantly remembering this is all a journey. Every morning I wake thinking what can I get done today to help improve my tomorrow👊🏼. Overall, I pray for a strong race on July 29th amongst my running friends and fellow #tsfm2018
ambassadors 💪🏼 Come that day, I WILL joyfully & gratefully complete 26.2 Miles ✌🏼❤️✨ #journeytobq #thisishappening #everymilematters

Run. Run to your goal. Run to be alone. Run to be part of a group. Run to clear your mind. Run to cope. Run to achieve. Run to be healthy. Run for joy. Run for you. Just Run.
I did it 😆🙌🏼 I ran a 10K in June. To some this may seem like nothing, but to me it means the world (last time I ran over 4 Miles was March 27th - 11 Mile Run)!!! I didn’t check my pace once, but ran at a conversational pace. Yes, I could have slowed down and kept a check on my HR (AVERAGE 164). I got a little too excited when I hit 4.5 miles and just knew I was going to get that 10K 🤗🙌🏼💞 18W4D
Running with my new Garmin Fenix 5s helped motivate me! Check out my stories for highlights during my run. Safety first 👊🏼🙌🏼 •

My coach @sugarruns
inspired me with her post today. The first few weeks back running after a marathon is HARD!!! I’m running at what used to be my easy paces and they HURT!! It’s hard to be patient and wait for the fitness to come back, but that’s what it’s all about—showing up every day and putting in the work!! 🙏🏽
