👉In 2015, I did my first Torchlight 5k. I remember it being SO.DAMN.HARD! I had no idea what to expect as this was my first evening 5k. I had to walk at least half of it and I finished feeling so defeated! In 2016, I skipped the race because I was afraid I wouldn’t do well. In 2017, I realized racing can be just for fun; they don’t all have to be super serious. So, I went out and just had fun with it! I had Such a different mindset walking away from that race! .
. 👉👉This year, since the weather wasn’t suffocating, I decided to give it what I had. I didn’t wear a watch and just picked people along the course to pace with. I thought for sure I was going to finish around 30 minutes as my body felt like it was not moving!! What a SURPRISE when I got to my car and checked the results; a 4:38 Course PR!! My goal last night was 27:30; I finished in 27:07! Jason was right at the finish waiting for me! .
. 💚This race is seriously so much fun! I will never skip a Torchlight again! There are a few races I make a tradition and this is definitely one of them!
Thank you @torchlight5k
for such a fun and organized race! I cannot wait to come back for another course PR next year!
