Silke with a Doppler (Magnum) 2007 Reserva from @bodegasmuga
, La Rioja, Spain
In the end having a good time in real life is more important than looking fab on social media. Therefore Silke is not shown from her best side y la etiqueta no es visible claramente here.
I mentioned before we are mates. Which is why even disagreement is fun. Everytime Silke and me are drinking tinto together I say it has to be slightly chilled and she says of course I know much more about wine, but nonetheless she prefers it at room temperature. I reply there is no standard room temperature and it's inevitable l have to mention Beaujolais and Lyon then. It all remains good-natured and naturalmente I bring a chilled Doppler bottle siempre.
We both like a classic Rioja tinto like this one. Contrary to some tintos from high-achieving wineries from up and coming DOs I usually don't find too much obtrusive wood in them. No wonder, they've been doing this style for a long time. And I still like it. There's nothing young, daring and rebellious about it. Bodegas Muga aren't "wine-punks". I don't care. Same applies to longing for appearing "punk" nowadays. When everybody is a rebel there's not much left to rebel against.
Perhaps only drinking mulled Moulin-a-Vent in Lyon is still "punk" in the world of today. Not even Silke would dare that.
