Cooking is a passion I share with many but too many of my peers are hypertensive without realising that a daily dose of Maggi-crack (my terminology) is the last thing they need. Of course overall health and well-being needs attention but the Maggi-crack pandemic must stop.
I know many small market stall holders across Africa depend on the sales of these products for their livelihoods. Also these products are deliberately sold as a healthy even happy lifestyles-choice product across Africa. Look at the beautiful homely, familiar women in the Maggi advertising!

Today on 'know your calories in foods'...Eggs are among the few foods that I would classify as "superfoods." They are loaded with lots of nutrients that are even rare in modern foods.

Apart from being a whole protein source, they are also high in choline (brain nutrient), Lutein and Zeaxanthin, antioxidants that reduce your risk of eye diseases like Macular Degeneration and Cataracts.
Another great component is Cholesterol which is very important for the structural part of the body...is also used to make steroid hormones like
testosterone , estrogen and cortisol...which is why the liver produces it daily to meet the body's needs.
Good to know that a Single Egg contains 210 mg, which is over half of the recommended daily intake of 300 mg and the liver can reduce its production when cholesterol is consumed in high amounts from diets. Hence, Moderation is key! in order not to go overboard.... Its preparation should also be taken into consideration...
