A constant reminder.. I weighed 401lbs on January 24, 2018. I never wanna go back there. I leave this on my desk at work as a constant reminder of where I was. I don’t know where I am now in terms of lbs because I don’t weigh myself. I’m not going to weigh myself until I go see my doctor on July 25, 2018. Here is what I do know about my progress. I was a size 50 pant. Now I’m a 46. I’ve moved each one of my belts down at lest 2-3 notches. I’m wearing shirts that haven’t fit me in years and that I thought would never fit me again. Today is a fresh start for a lot of us! It’s Monday, it’s a new day, new week and for the ladies in my group bootcamp, it’s day one of prep week! And that makes today extra special.
Each of these ladies has a different story, a different starting point on their health and wellness journey, and different journey through life. They have one thing in common though— the desire to BE better each day and build their strength on their journey to self love! And I just could not be more excited for them! 💕
I’m so excited to coach them through this journey, this month and BEYOND. Because it doesn’t stop when this month is said and gone. The support is continual, year round, because your desire is bigger than ONE month. But I can promise to help you take it day by day, breaking it down every little bit and teaching you how to make these desires achievable! You already have the desire to change, you also have the drive and power to do so. And let me tell you, you don’t have to do this alone, I didn’t and still don’t!
My little community and virtual bootcamp have kept me on track through 2 postpartum journeys and I’m not sure I’d ever be where I am today had I not joined one a few short years ago. I would probably still be that burnt out, exhausted mama who got winded walking up and down the stairs to throw a load of laundry in. Ahh forever thankful for these groups and the fresh start each one brings!

Real talk, as a New Yorker, I am most likely to forgo waking up early to make breakfast if I have to be anywhere before 8am and grab and egg and cheese from the bodega. But times are a changin’ so behold, the make ahead breakfast of champions: chia pudding! I just finished gobbling this up as I await my number to be called for jury duty and I am so glad I spent three minutes preparing this last night because I’m going to feel so much less bloated and cranky as I sit in this glorified waiting room all day.

Japanese for dinner tonight before our early pregnancy class 🍼 Found this little gem in a random spot, there are so many awesome little restaurants hiding out there! It was sooo delicious! That dressing on the lettuce in the first photo was INCREDIBLE! And the tofu was so crispy! Dare I say even better than the terryaki tofu we get at our regular Japanese place! On another note, this is the 4th night in a row we have eaten out or had takeaway 😳 All cheap so not worried about the $$, but we need to reign it in a little. I have some english spinich to cook tomorrow night, any ideas what I can make?!

So im going start by saying hello haha
If you have stumbled on my page welcome. I guess I can tell you a lil about myself and my fitness journey
I was very unhealthy in high school and some in college. I got up to 230 pounds of fat and little muscle. I had lost it all (just by dieting) and got down to 185 in one summer which was not healthy at all because that was in a span of 2-3 months. I started gaining it back little by little and then I went to college and gained it all back (picture on left) I was up to 224 ish and I was like oh no. So I started to diet down again and got to 200 lbs but I was still not muscular, so one day I decided to go to my apartment gym for the first time in my life. December 17, 2016 and I absolutely fell in love with the gym. I had been on a huge superhero movie watching spree and I wanted to look like Captain America, so that’s when my journey began.
I’m making this page for anyone who thinks that they can’t lose weight. You can lose weight you just gotta have the right formula and I’m here to help you with your journey and be there with you whenever you need it. I will be posting what workouts I usually do and what I usually eat on a regular basis, so give me a follow and I’ll be here just in case you need motivation or just someone to talk to about fitness. I LOVE working my lats + allll the other upper/ mid-back muscles, so one of my go-to’s is a WIDE GRIP PULLDOWN or PULL-UP!
I’m having issues activating some muscles on my left side (C1 spine related), so it might not look overly symmetrical (infraspinatus, @drryanemmons
lol), BUT the idea of this is to show you how to ACTIVATE YOUR LATS in these movements rather than you feeling your upper traps or anterior/ middle deltoids (shoulders) as your primary movers.
Wide Grip Pull Down:
• muscles activated: lats, mid + lower traps, infraspinatus, teres minor, posterior deltoid, and even into the muscles of the bicep (brachialis + brachioradialis).
• make sure the knee pad is secured so that you do not fall backwards and are able to keep your bum on the seat.
• set yourself into a position for optimum muscle activation: shoulders roller back and down the spine (away from the ears). Your grip should be fairy wide- I like to have mine there this bar goes into a bend. Lean back slightly.
• the movement: pulling the arms in a downward movement, the elbows moving back (squeezing the shoulder blades slightly), and down the spine (to activate your lats), and pull the bar down to just below your collarbone (clavicle).
You should feel those muscles between the shoulder blades and underneath the armpits and down the ribs after a day or to, haha 😅.

- Toast 1 : avocado, cucumber, feta cheese.
- Toast 2 : avocado, tomatoes, mozzarella.
- Toast 3 : avocado, one soft-boiled egg (6mins), cucumber.
Topping for all : lemon juice, pepper, pink himalayan salt, chia seeds.
Et Voilà, that easy and yummy again!!
