The way we live in our modern world - go go go, work work work, stress stress stress, is ALL YANG - creating an IMBALANCE between Yin + Yang in our bodies, society and world 🌏.
You can feel it. People are stressed, unhappy, depressed, unmotivated. World politics has gone to shit. Capitalism has taken over the world and disrupted so much of nature's bounty. People don't rest, they don't relax without self-medicating with alcohol, drugs, overeating or technology - this is all YANG 🔥.
There isn't enough YIN. Yin is deep breathing, stretching, being. It's quieting the mind and turning off the phone. It's meditation, prayer, reflection. It's acceptance, kindness, and generosity. It's stopping to smell the flowers 🌹

Last night meal prep, keeping it basic and simple :
Preheat the oven to 350 . Season the branzino fishes with salt , pepper , fennel seeds ,paprika ,and garlic powder . Stuff each one with thyme sprigs or any other herb you like and lemon slices. Rub the outside of the branzino with the olive oil and season with salt and pepper (keep it low sodium), you can use any kind of veggies you like for side dishes , put the fishes in the oven for 25-30mins and enjoy 😋😉

Secrets of making the Best Homemade Salsa Recipe! This restaurant-style salsa recipe is loaded with flavor, has an amazing texture, and a secret ingredient.
4 ripe tomatoes, cored and quartered
1 red onion, peeled and quartered
3 garlic cloves, peeled
3 jalapenos, stemmed and seeded (You can substitute 1-2 habanero or serrano peppers.)
1/3 cup fresh cilantro
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon ground cumin
2-3 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
15 ounce can crush San Marzano tomatoes
4.5 ounce can be diced green chiles (mild, medium, or hot)
1. Place the fresh tomatoes, onion, garlic, peppers, cilantro, lime juice, cumin, sugar, and salt in a food processor. Pulse until the contents are fine and well blended.
2. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and green chiles. Puree until mostly smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Next up I figured I should post the picture that I'm currently using as my profile picture here. At my heaviest weight, there were certainly several things about my body I wasn't particularly happy with. I carried most of my weight in my belly, but I halfway convinced myself that an empire waisted dress could hide my big belly. The one thing that I was actually insecure about was the one thing I couldn't hide... my double chin! I moved in with my now fiance back in December of 2015, and I remember spending a lot of nights just hanging out laying in bed with the covers pulled all way up to my chin because I wanted to hide my neck fat. I'm happy to say that through fourteen months of calorie counting, I've lost almost two inches from around my neck (whaaat), and I've got my jawline back!

This photo doesn't look like much of an achievement. In fact, you can criticize my lack of mobility and flexibility here. Regardless, I am incredibly proud of this photo and what it represents - the progress my shoulder has made over the last few months. I don't yet have full mobility to get that 180+ degree mobility, and my strength is way less than it used to be, but I'm really close mobility-wise and normalcy feels within arm's reach! (Pun totally intended). Who has dealt with a difficult injury/surgery/recovery? I didn't realize how hard this process would be, and I am really only part of the way through to full recovery, but seeing a light at the end of the tunnel can really lift your spirits. 💪😝🙆💃🌈☀️
Every time I walk into the gym I laugh at this quote a little bit because it’s kinda corny, but it’s also so true. I went to the gym last night and was feeling pretty crummy about myself and life in general, but by the time I walked out I felt so good. .
Life in general has been pretty frustrating lately, I’ve been feeling stuck in a lot of different ways and as a person that’s always doing the absolute most this can be a really overwhelming and discouraging feeling. But, it’s important to remember that half of your struggle lies in the way you look at things. You can choose to dwell on your failures and shortcomings or you can decide to focus on your goals and keep moving forward. There’s no need to put a time stamp on your goals, whether they be fitness, work, or school related. Your life path doesn’t need to, and honestly shouldn’t, look like anyone else’s. You are your only real competition in this life, so just focus on becoming a person that YOU can be proud of. 💛❤️
On that note, I’m about to head back to the gym to spend some more quality time with this foam roller 😅😂

•1/3 cup @bobsredmill
• 1 tbsp @betterbodyfoods
• 1 scoop of collagen peptides
•1 tsp @nutiva
•1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk 🥛 •1/2 cup water
•mixed in 1/2 cup egg whites
• warm for about 3 minutes in the microwave periodically stirring • topped with strawberries 🍓 + shredded coconut 🥥 + cacao nibs + chopped almonds •

with a sundried tomato sauce 👏🏻
Sun-dried tomato sauce:
- soaked cashew nuts (1/2 cup), soaked over night. -sun dried tomatoes (1/4 - 1/2cup depending on how strong you want it) they blend better if they’re soaked in water too. - olive oil (1 tbsp) - mixed @nomuchirps
chili spice - milk sub...coconut / almond (1/4-1/2 cup) - fresh basil (a few leaves)
Blend all in a high powered blender. Add more “milk” if you want it less thick. Taste it and dabble with the flavors. You can add more sun-dried tomatoes, salt, pepper, chili, milk, water, olive oil and blend it more. Once your pasta is cooked, drain it and then stir in the sauce on low heat for a few minutes 🙌🏻👏🏻🙆🏻♀️

I used to “fool” myself by eating a huge bowl of vegetables/salads that would make me physically full but NEVER satisfied. I’d make sure most of my meals were low in calories so I could be “safe” ⠀
That only lasted so long. And if you’re trying to eat just to feel physically full and ignore the fact that your body also needs to feel satiated then please STOP fooling your body! If you think you can get away with doing this long term, it’ll only cause you a ton of other health issues! Your body will “catch” up with you one day and you’ll regret all the side effects of eating such low calorie diet! ⠀
There’s absolutely nothing with enjoying a big bowl of fruits and veggies (like pictured). It’s delicious but don’t eat it to replace a real meal! ⠀

Obveza omeji pretok venske krvi, medtem ko je pretok arterijske krvi nespremenjen - kri torej lahko priteka v mišico, ne more pa iz nje odtekati.
💪Tak princip treninga ima dokazane pozitivne učinke na hipertrofijo mišice ob treningu z nižjimi bremeni, saj metaboliti ostanejo v mišici in tako še povečajo pritisk v mišici, ki pa je ključen za hipertrofijo.
🏋️♂️Trening z okluzijo je predvsem uporaben pri rehabilitaciji, saj kljub pospešeni hipertrofiji ne povečuje poškodb mišice. Povečuje le metabolni stres na mišico.
💡Trening naj bi se izvajal z bremeni med 20 in 40% 1RM (rajši manjša bremena) v 3 serijah po 20-25 tekočih ponovitev (odmor med serijami naj traja 30 sekund). Obvezana naj bo zavezana s pritiskom 6-7 od 10 in naj ostane zategnjena skozi celotno izvajanje vaje, tudi med pavzo.

Rainbow Bowl- Place greens of your choice in a bowl (I used @organicgirl
baby spinach). Top with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, a splash of evoo and a sprinkle of sea salt. Now add your roasted veggies and chicken- all cooked at 425 for different time lengths. 1. Roasted broccoli (tossed in @chosenfoods
avocado oil, sea salt, black pepper and garlic powder) and purple onion (roughly chopped and tossed in avocado oil) for 15-20 minutes 2. Sweet Potatoes (tossed in avocado oil, sea salt, black pepper, paprika and cayenne pepper) for about 40 minutes 3. Chicken Thighs (pat dry and brush with avocado oil, season with sea salt, black pepper and garlic powder) for about 20 minutes until brown and crispy (I throw these in after I remove the broccoli) 4. Jalapeños (nothing done as I like them charred) for the last 10 minutes of the potatoes. Top bowl with avocado slices and kale micro greens. Toss well and enjoy!

last time I checked more people voted for a quad workout so lucky y’all get to enjoy a quad workout with a perfect display of ASS sweat.... After I recorded this video and watched it I marched over to Eric and said “what the fuck babe you could’ve told me it looks like I pissed my damn self” 😂🤷🏼♀️ This used to embarrass me sooo much, that and crotch sweat. But you know what, I’m only human, it gets hot as fuck in this gym and I work hard okayyy 💁🏼♀️ Sooo who cares 🙄 anywayssss I did this superset at the end of my quad workout this morning: weighted step ups 4 sets of 6-8 reps on each leg followed by forward lunges, 4 sets of 8-10 on each leg. I hope you all have a wonderfully sweaty workouts today 💪🏻💪🏻
