Holy Guacamole! 🥑 (And shrimp and cucumbers)! 🦐 🥒 Shrimp Cucumber Bites Makes 3 servings Per serving 1 Leanest 2 Healthy Fats 1 2/3 Green 3 Condiments 2 Teaspoon olive oil 1 Tablespoons creole seasoning 21 ounces cooked shrimp 2 Cups cucumber, sliced AVOCADO SAUCE 6 ounces avocado ½ Cup green onions, less a little to sprinkle on top 2 Tablespoons fresh cilantro 2 Teaspoon lemon juice ¼ Teaspoon salt ½ Teaspoon cayenne DIRECTIONS Toss the shrimp in the oil and the seasoning and cook in a preheated (medium-high heat) heavy bottomed pan/skillet until slightly blackened, about 2-3 minutes per side.Assemble the bites with cucumber slices, topped with avocado sauce, shrimp and some more green onions.

After six years in my beloved Chico, moving felt a lot like uprooting everything I worked really hard to establish- habits, mindset, friendships, lifestyle. Maybe that sounds dramatic and I don’t mean it in a bad way. I’m loving being back in the bay and we are so so happily getting settled into our new place 🏡🙏🏻. Lately I’ve just been go go go getting things unpacked and organized and since I’m not the type of person to half ass shit, I’ve basically been focusing on moving 💯 and haven’t done much for my coaching biz or my own health/fitness goals. I. DON’T. CARE. (I love it) 🎶 . For real though...it took me such a long time to retrain myself not to study the nutrition label on every single thing I put into my mouth... . The work was SO worth it, though, because let me tell you, it is glorious. I used to straight up refuse to eat anything that I didn’t know the exact calorie count of. As you can imagine, that’s not only ridiculously tedious & inconvenient, but ironically enough, probably lead to me eating stuff that’s even less healthy than I normally would’ve, just because it was packaged & could be totaled. . Calorie counts ruled my food consumption—not cravings, hunger levels, nutrients...any of the stuff that I should’ve been listening to. Any form intuitive eating that I’d previously benefitted from (pre-eating disorder) had gone completely out the window. I didn’t even know how to listen to my body anymore. . But now? I’m the girl in this picture, who doesn’t give a flying fuck how many calories are in the food, because she’s eating exactly what she wants in that very moment. I’d be lying if I said that numbers never cross my mind, but I’m the boss of those thoughts now, so when they come up, I tell them to leave me the hell alone & let me enjoy my food in peace. . I know that my body is smart, I know that it knows what I need (and how much of it, and when), and I know that the world will not end if I don’t calculate every bite I’m eating. On the contrary; my world is so much brighter when I don’t. . An important note, though—recovery is a long process, and it’s different for everyone. It can take quite awhile to break these patterns, and to learn how to listen to your body’s natural cues again. So don’t get discouraged. . There’ll probably be lots of fear, lots of insecurity, lots of self-criticism, and lots of what feels like overeating (but actually isn’t—it’s completely necessary!!!). Despite it all, though, you really do just have to trust the healing process. You’re undoing years of damage and brainwashing and bad habits...but the regenerative capacity of our bodies is truly amazing. Give it time. You will get there, and it will be beautiful when you do. . Freedom feels better. Always 🤘🏻💕

— something i tell myself (and others) all the time is that you can do nearly anything that you put your mind to. getting to where you want to be requires work. for instance, i desire to study to become a dietician and personal trainer. i am in the works of starting classes through a community college and am also looking for a good program to get my personal training certification under. it’s all so exciting- and these are the first big steps to my goal. if i work hard enough, i will achieve them both. i desire a continuous healthy relationship with food. i learned so much through my stay at a residential eating disorder facility last summer, and must continue the hard work i put in there. if i loose sight of the wisdom and strength i discovered there, then such a healthy relationship will likely fall apart. tactics i used there and some that i have developed on my own have assisted me in resisting negative ed thoughts and discomfort. i want others to benefit from my actions. this could go many ways, but one thing i put a lot of effort into is my work ethic. i am a hard worker, even though ive been quite exhausted lately. i still do my best in all that i do and more. i want to bring pleasure to others, and i want them to know that i am a responsible person. i know that what others think of me doesn’t matter as much, but when it comes to my jobs and the work that i do, i make sure to do my best so that i succeed for myself. and others noticing will lead me to advancing and benefiting as well. goals are great to have. whether it be being able to lift a certain weight, sleep a certain amount per night, or even reach a weight goal. they’re all so important. and they’re all possible if we focus on doing our best. when we do our best, we can achieve our goals. we achieve it when we deserve it. hard work pays off! never forget how STRONG you are. as weak as you may think or feel you are, you are NEVER a failure. push yourself, challenge yourself, and be the best you can be! trust me, even if it starts out in super small actions, eventually you will begin growing more and more confident. you WILL achieve your goals. and you will NOT be disappointed.💓 6.22.18

Inspired by @flourbakeryandcafe ’s curry tuna salad 🤤 I wanted to try @primalkitchenfoods ’ avocado oil mayo and it happened to be on sale at @wholefoods AND we had leftover chicken 🤗 It’s funny because Ryan suggested I make it and I was all like blah chicken salad so boring, but then it came to me to add curry and omgggg 😛 I used @iggysbakery bread and added celery and red onion to the chicken salad and layered some arugula on too. The photo on the left isn’t the smallest I’ve ever been and the photo on the right isn’t the largest. . What I can tell you about the photo on left is that I wasn’t happy with how I looked. I remember picking this photo apart and I never shared it with anyone because I thought my arms and legs were way bigger than they should be. . The photo was taken on my honeymoon in Cancun and leading up to the wedding I was tracking everything I ate and refusing to eat even though I was incredibly hungry. I worked 12hr night shifts at the hospital at the time and I would allow myself 1 diet microwaveable dinner and occasionally a tablespoon of peanut butter and a graham cracker for my entire shift. . Fast forward to the photo on the right and my life has done a complete 180. I may have gained a couple of pounds but I’m leaps and bounds healthier than the photo on the left. . I no longer stress about food or looking like a mannequin in photos. #intuitiveeating and #selfacceptance has changed my life, and I want nothing more than for you to feel as free as I do now. . . . FROZEN BROWNIE BARK 🍫 looks weird, tastes great. once again, didn’t measure a thing. i just threw everything into my food processor, added ingredients as i needed, taste tested like five times & thus brownie bark was born. try it! you really can’t mess it up. you’ll like it, it’s sweet. 🙃 “brownie” points for whoever can remember what movie that line is from! . . ingredients! almond flour. dutch chocolate complete (my FAVORITE protein powder. you can only get it online & dang is it good.) (this is also where all the veggies hide! if you saw my insta story.) almond butter (use any butter your little heart desires.) coconut oil. vanilla extract. cinnamon. honey. just a little cashew milk, until consistency is right. dark choco chips. . . mix it all together, flatten it into a pan lined with parchment paper, & stick em in the freezer. in an hour two you’ll have yourself a dang good snack. . . i’ll be over here listening to ben rectors new album if you need me. #magic #thatsthenameofthealbumbutitisliteralmagic
