Friday night calls for treats 🍔 🍟 I made these delicious healthy patties using one of @minimalistbaker recipes, it’s to die for 🤤 I’ve made my way through making all of them and this is up there with my favourite, then I jam packed the burger with fresh salads and of course sweet potato chips seasoned with @mingleseasoning , don’t worry I went back for more 😏 my house mate said this was up there with one of the best burgers she’s had! Followed by my fav loving earth salted caramel chocolate 😍🍫😋 and a cheeky glass of red to end the week 🍷 how do you like to treat yourself on a Friday after a big week?!

I remember reading this health tip from many years ago that you should always have a healthy takeaway meal menu in your home on those nights you can’t be F’d. This is something I have always implemented at work and our local shops. The airport is full of expensive unhealthy food choices. As is the foodcourt in most shopping centres. Can you relate? Through the stress of exams and really just laziness, I have lost the habit of writing in my journal everyday and I can honestly notice the difference in my mood. I wrote for the first time in a while today and I looked over a few of the entries from the past. Writing down what you are grateful for is so uplifting cause it’s hard to be down or unmotivated when you are in a state of gratitude, it helps you to be present and I have now made it a major goal of mine to write and meditate every single day. Happy international yoga day 🧘‍♀️ I’ve been doing yin yoga for about a year and a half at @yokeyoga and it’s been life changing for my mind and body 🙌 Yin is the only thing I’ve ever experienced to be challenging and relaxing at the same time, bizarre concept right?! It came to my attention this week that I need to check myself before I wreck myself, life’s been truly amazing lately but absolutely manic with how much I’ve been taking on and the amount I’ve been doing before work, after work, on work lunch breaks and my days ‘off’. After talking to a friend hearing myself out loud I stopped mid sentence and said ‘oh wow I sound crazy’ and my friend looked at me like yep you sound crazy 🤪 but on the plus side I’m so grateful I have become aware of this as last year when I had a massive set back with my recovery, I wasn’t aware and I kept pushing and pushing until my tank was completely empty and my whole life came to a stand still as I was so unwell and couldn’t do anything and that’s the absolute beauty of living and learning, failure is part of success 🙌 it’s just so hard to stop when you absolutely love everything you do which I’m sure many people can relate but today I’m making a conscious effort to slowwwwww down and allowing myself the time to invest in rest for a better long term outcome. Have you been looking after yourself lately? Remember self care is not selfish and you can’t pour from an empty cup 🙏

How are you starting your day? A little reluctant to get out of bed? Unhappy about going to work? A quick pick me up coffee because you don’t have time to eat? Complaining and completely missing the small things? A few simple things to start your day on a better note..1. Practice gratitude by saying 3 things your grateful for when you wake up..one might even be the job you have when many people are out of work or struggling to secure a job 2. Get up a little earlier and make yourself a nourishing breaky to fuel your body the right way which will set you up for the day and maximise your functioning and even better if you give yourself the time to sit down and enjoy it without distraction 3. A 10 minute morning meditation 4. Put some music on that wakes you up and makes you feel happy 5. Give yourself plenty of time to get ready without stressing and rushing around. 🔥Will an AT HOME workout challenge you? . I USED to think they were kind of wimpy, before I ever tried them. I used to think that in order to get an awesome work out, I needed to go to the gym. Spend 30 minutes running on the treadmill. Have a ton of equipment. . NOT TRUE‼️ . I’ve been to classes where people skip reps, goof off, and slack on the workout. I used to get SO angry, and then I realize that they were only cheating themselves. This mentality applies anywhere. . You can push yourself at the gym. You can push yourself at home. You can also cheat yourself at gym...or at home! . Really, you can work out anywhere as long as you push yourself and do your best. You don’t need a lot of equipment. You don’t need to spend hours running. . I love that I have a professional trainer on demand WHENEVER I want. I can push myself to compete with them. I wanted to do a time lapse of one of my workouts for you all, but I guess I didnt realize how fast the video would turn out..😂you can barely see what I did, but hey! At least the video looks cool! Anywho, here's a pretty random workout that I wanted to share with you all. I rarely plan out my workouts, I either go in with a goal and/or a muscle group(s) that I want to focus on. I used to plan out every single exercise, and then I would get stressed out if I couldn't do it bc of a crowded gym, or I could use a certain piece of equipment. Now, I just sort of "go with the flow". I listen to my body and how I'm feeling, and I make do with the space & equipment that I have! It took me years to figure out the best way for me to workout, and guess what?! That's always changing too! Another indecisive moment bites the dust 😂 I’m lucky I have you guys to decide for me 🙏 Chia pudding topped with @mindfulfoods Eros granola and bluebs 😋 chia pudding has to be one of the most easy, yummy and healthy breakys to make, you can make a big batch and it’ll last a few days if your really time poor or just don’t enjoy making food and you can just grab and go! RECIPE ALERT 👩🏼‍🍳 omg so I came up with this the other day, and it was so 👏🏼 good 👏🏼! Really filling, and felt like I was enjoying something much more decadent than a bowl of veggies 🤐 • 1.5 cups cooked spaghetti squash • 4 oz. fire roasted diced tomatoes • 1 Tbs diced garlic • Sundried tomatoes to taste • 1 sliced hot Italian Sausage ^ Combine all ingredients in a sautee pan over medium heat ^ Once heated through, create a well in the center of the pan, and crack 2 🥚eggs in ^ Combine egg into spaghetti squash mixture and stir every few minutes until egg is set ^ Remove from heat & enjoy the F out of it 🤤🤤🤤
My kinda of #beforeandafter !😍 - AST and ALT are measures of liver function. These are results from a traditional blood draw you get at the docs office. The first draw we saw VERY elevated liver enzymes - yikes!!! But this client doesn’t drink alcohol, doesn’t smoke, and eats a 100% organic diet! We found out the reason the liver was so out of whack was because she had gut bacteria built up in her intestines and crazy inflammation in basically her whole body because of it + food intolerances she’d developed. - I put her on my 5 Day Liver & Gallbladder Detox and we retested afterward. I don’t take a lot of supplements but seaweed is the one I’ve really been trying to consistently incorporate since it seems to be good for everything from skin to thyroid to arthritis (I take it in pill form & also I make a gel from the sea moss). I’m also experimenting with magnesium to see if it helps my 😴 Let me know if you’ve taken either of these and seen improvements in any part of your health! I’m all about improving my energy ⚡️

I feel I’m jibbing you all with my lack of new content and exciting captions of late but I’m just trying to juggle the transition into my new job, my old job, working on some new exciting things, rehab appts, exercise, trying to keep up my social life which has well and truly taken the back seat for now which is very unlike me, cooking purely to fuel myself (there’s been a hell of a lot of my old trusty quick and easy jam packed veg omelettes lately and definitely not enough of these variety bowls 😍😩) and everything else that comes with this wonderful thing called life, I blink an eye and another week is over! When I’m running my head is buzzing with ideas of all the things i want to write about so i’m definitely not lacking inspiration, just the time at the minute, I wish your thinking could convert to writing 💭 how amazing would that be?! I do plan on setting some time aside soon to lift my game so please bare with me..😅

My food allergen test results surprised me! Turns out soy and corn are what my body rejects the most. All of this time, I thought gluten was the culprit for all of my symptoms....although I do feel better overall without it! I have been talking to quite a few people lately about working out and eating healthy and I am hearing a lot of, “but you ❤️ working out so it is easy for you” or “you are already fit so it comes natural to you.” . Let me stop you all right there! Yes, I ❤️ working out and I also don’t think I am fit so I appreciate the compliments. But let’s get REAL! . It is just as HARD for me as it is for you! Yes, you heard that right! . I STRUGGLE many days with getting the motivation to actually do a workout. I tell myself “do I really want to be out of breath, sweaty and sore?” . I LOVE food especially ice cream 🍨 and chocolate 🍫. . BUT you know what my little secret is??? It is really quite simple... . I WANT to be better. I WANT to be in shape and not struggle through my hikes or stuggle to keep up with others. I WANT to look at my body one day and say DAMN!!! She is HOT 🔥 . That is what MOTIVATES me to get my butt off the couch and workout. The ladies in my fitness group are the ones who keep me ACCOUNTABLE on those days it is REALLY hard to get up. 🙌🏻 . What a weekend 🙌 I’m the most least spontaneous person I know, I’m a serial planner, I usually plan to plan 🤓 I’ve always been an organised person but after rehab my life was planned out on a white board for me to visualise to manage my fatigue and to get through my days so it’s been quite ingrained in me but the few and far between times I’m spontaneous it feels so good, check out my stories for the most impromptu camp trip ever! I absolutely love adventure, it’s my kind of soul fuel and after coastal drives, treks In the bush, swag set up by the beach, camp fires, grazing platters, good conversation, red wine, star gazing, sleeping to the sound of the ocean, waking up with a picturesque view, 4WDing in mud along with many laughs along the way, it’s safe to say my heart is full of gratitude and can’t wait for the next trip 🙏 usually I’d plan something like that out for at least a few weeks but a friend put it too me and decided in less then 24hrs, I’m a little bit proud of myself 😅 haha! Are you more of a planner or fly by the seat of your pants?! I’d love to hear. I hope you all had a lovely long weekend and feeling ready for the week ahead 🌟
