Olives - who hates them & who HATES them?
Let me tell you a short story about me & olives....
I worked in a deli when I was 17 so I tried anything and everything that we sold.
I HATED olives. Any kind, hated them.
When I was pregnant with my first and out for dinner with friends at a little Italian restaurant everyone else ducked outside for a cigarette whilst I stayed inside ~ starving ~ there infront of me on the table was a little bowl of mixed olives.
I was that hungry I thought what the hell, from that moment on we were best friends, the further into my pregnancy the more I craved them.
That following Christmas I sat and ate a whole punnet 🙊
I’ve always loved the Bruce Lee quote, “Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”
The past year has been exactly that.
Long days and even longer nights trying to balance work, school, family, and a social life.
But, now that summer is here and I’ve hustled myself into exhaustion, it’s time to rest and digest.
One way I’ve been doing that is by taking my focus from doing all the things to focusing on one thing....
Fueling my body with the good stuff.
And I’ve had more energy and wake up with more motivation then I’ve had in months! .
And I want the same for you.

Simple + delicious: Grilled chicken Caesar salad 🥗
Wow! No surprise that bad food choices and poor life style causes illnesses.
But did you know the percentage was that high? 😱
Really something to think about, isn’t it? .
To me, there is no doubt that investing in optimal nutrition and healthy life style choices is the way to health-care. The cost of not doing so will be sick-care.
It is so rewarding to me to help people in this journey. .

I found these Annie Chun’s brown rice noodles on @thrivemkt
and the only ingredients are brown rice flour and water. 🙌🏼 Picked up a stir fry mix from @target
today and added some @raoshomemade
spaghetti sauce (no sugar! yass) to make a pretty darn good dinner. I sautéed some chicken for the hubs and kiddo but I wasn’t super hungry so I stuck with just veggies and gave the hubs double chicken. #browniepoints
😉 Brynlee had the chicken, noodles with grass fed butter instead of sauce, and the stir fry mix - all separate of course because #toddlers
. 🤷🏼♀️ Anyone else get super excited when their kids love a meal??
Cookies 🍪😃🍪 Sometimes taking a traditional #recipe
and substituting some of the original ingredients in part or entirely with more healthy options can be so much fun 👩🏻🔬👩🏻🍳 Here are my favorite substitutes that I used for these cookies:
White sugar with light brown sugar (always good to use less than the recipe calls for). For these cookies I reduced the sugar amount by half.
All purpose flour with a part of almond meal.
Butter with coconut oil, nut or seed butter (I added sunflower seed butter), sour cream, olive oil.
Instead of adding chocolate chips to the batter, use half of the amount for a chocolate drizzle.
Milk for nut milk.
What are your favorite substitutes in recipes?

Waking up to who you are requires letting go of who you imagine yourself to be. ~ Alan Watts
With so much going on in this world and on social media, we all get caught up in that "perfect image". If you constantly compare yourself to the "Instagram models", compare your relationship to someone else's or even look at another moms life and say it's perfect you're going to drive yourself insane!! 🤯
No one's as perfect as their profiles make them out to be. We all have our struggles and disappointments but not everyone wants to blast it out for everyone to gawk at. If your situation causes you to act any way other than how YOU know yourself to be, then maybe it's time to reevaluate yourself and that situation. .
The best place you can be is in that place that eases your mind, makes you calm, and allows you to just be YOU!! Do the things you love, with the people that WANT to do them with you. Be with people that allow you to be YOU and don't judge. Experience the things you like to experience. Explore yourself and the world around you. .
BE CALM.... BE YOU!! #selfdevelopment

Roasted Broccoli! ⠀
This side dish was SUPER easy to make and only used 5 ingredients. I even bought a bag of broccoli florets that were pre-chopped up because I knew I had a busy week. ⠀
PS. It was so good I actually ate it all in one sitting. No joke⠀
3 - 4 cups broccoli florets (you can also use the stems!) ⠀
3/4 cup nutritional yeast ⠀
2-3 Tbsp @ChosenFoods
1/2 Lemon juice + zest⠀
1/2 tsp Sea Salt⠀
Add broccoli to a mixing bowl then drizzle with the avocado oil, nutritional yeast, lemon juice and lemon zest, and sea salt. ⠀
Toss to coat the broccoli and then spread on a baking sheet. Top with the nutritional yeast mixture left in the bowl. ⠀
Bake at 425F until desired tenderness and crisp (I like mine to be a bit crispy!) ⠀
avocado oil is a staple in my house. It has a really high smoke point of 500F (heating oil past its smoke point creates toxins and free radicals which can wreak havoc on our body and cause inflammation) and a mild flavor, unlike olive oil, which I only really use for salad dressings⠀

I absolutely LOVE what I do and look forward to my continuing education!
has nothing to do with my outside, and everything to do with my inside. The changes I’ve made over the last 17 months with my mindset far exceed my weightloss! Some of the things I have learned and applied daily are:
1. It’s ok to not be perfect; I will mess up, but that doesn’t mean I am a failure, it means I am human.
2. I do not have to be rigid in my eating. If I really want something, I have a couple of bites and I don’t feel one bit guilty!
3. I can go to the gym, workout, and not fear that people are making fun of me. If, by chance someone does, it’s their problem, not mine.
4. Still working on this one, but so much better than when I started...I’m learning to love and accept who I am. I am a good person with many talents. I can feel comfortable in my own skin and enjoy life again!! 5.Most important-I’ve stopped comparing myself to others (this was the hardest to accomplish). This my journey and it won’t look like anyone else’s, from what I eat, how I work out, etc. Everyone has to do what is right for them to make this journey sustainable. I can rejoice with others successes without feeling like I’m a loser!
Changing my inside will assure me success no matter how slow the scale moves!! #weightlosstransformation #gethealthy #inspiration #godfirst #icandothis #icandoallthingsthroughchrist #noexcuses #noexcusesjustresults #fightingobesity #watchmeshrink #weightlossjourney #workingonme #weightlossgoals #transformation #nevergiveup #icountcalories #icountmacros #caloriecounting #healthierchoices #eatinghealthy #lowcalorie
Quick update on me. I've been feeling really good since I started working out last October and it's become so important to me to try and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I never thought I'd get past my general apathy towards health and fitness but here's to a few months trying. #babysteps #healthierchoices
