Hi everyone! It's me - the human behind Lyme Advise 😊 I wanted to share that come Friday I will have one month of treatment under my belt for my Babesia relapse. I am already feeling the affects of treatment and doing a bit better with each week that passes. .
I have slowed life down and cut work hours in half to allow my body to heal and my mind to rest. Instead of going full throttle I am slowly adding to my regiment each week and allowing my body to adjust. Detoxing loads, eliminating wheat from my diet, and really trying to love and work with my body- not against it. I have lost 6 pounds this month which is great. That means my body is slowly starting to work the way it shpuld again. Slow and steady will put my body, heart and mind in the right place! .
May we all continue to heal, to care for ourselves and love ourselves through each and every part of this crazy Lyme journey ❤

A wonderful friend of mine recently placed me next to someone who taught me a lesson that I will never forget. In the midst of having a conversation about how I tend to deal with other people, I referred to myself as a bit of an “asshole.” They quietly responded by asking me what I believe that is, and with that, I immediately wanted to defend myself of not being an asshole because well... I’m not. Reluctantly though, I went on explaining why I thought I could be kind of rude (so to speak). I explained that I tend to cut relationships off unexpectedly, I am a little too honest, I am often self-centered, I notice reasons to not like others easily, and I don’t often try to make friendships or continue friendships that I’ve opened up to.
With a slight look of disinterest on their face, their only response was that none of those things matter because not one of them make me a bad person. They continued by telling me to treat myself with kindness and to be generous with the positive words I speak to myself because, at the end of the day, the only person I have to live with is myself and if I can’t get along with me, what kind of life am I going to be living?
It makes so much sense but we forget these sorts of things. We judge ourselves extremely harshly due to the fact that we believe we should. We tend to subconsciously act off of the idea that “everyone else judges me, so shouldn’t I do it too?” But NO, you shouldn’t.
Please, everyone who needs it, take this as a very basic lesson to self-love. Do not belittle yourself. Do not deprive yourself the ability to be happy with who you are. Have a healthy relationship with the labels and names you associate yourself with. Speak politely to yourself because you deserve to have the very best relationship with you.
Tell yourself today that you are kind and happy and beautiful and caring and ingenious and smart and compassionate and loving and forgiving and creative and wishful and hopeful and literally whatever else you want yourself to be. The more you tell yourself you are something, likeliness is, the more you will become it. So, stick to just the good stuff. 💕
