An interesting tip I learned from some great acting coaches is how important it is to make a clear and deliberate decision in my expressions and movement. Otherwise it looks choppy and confusing on camera. If my goal is to look at a product, Im going to take a beat and look at it, not sort of look at it, not continously look back and forth between the camera and the product. Im also going to choose to look at it when it makes sense to look at it based on whats going on and what Im saying.
I found this helpful not only in the acting world but in real life. So often in the past I have been at a stand still, or I waiver between a difficult choice that I have to make. It lends to a life that is fragmented for me and confusing to those around me. I need to make a clear conscious choice and accept the consequences, whether positive or negative. I know I'll be happier for it. Perhaps when choices are the most difficult is when it is a question of who we are and what we value. Rather than fear choices, perhaps we can look at it as a place to discover the parts of ourselves that we need to get to know a little better. On the other end, when it should be an easy choice, like which toothpaste to get, just remember pick and dont think too hard so you have time to have fun and hang out with your fam! .
