In Haiti employment opportunities are scarce. Through job creation we are able to create change. The confidence earrings are made by an artisan group in Haiti, and this job opportunity allows the women to have an income, healthcare, and educational resources. Oh and how good do these earrings look on blogger @akeeleywhite ?!
These bunch here are part of my inspiration. My friend Donald introduced me to a whole new world of opportunity while he has been around the world himself. Karine as well is a travel and designer mogul. Thankful for you two for being there helping me in the process I was so scared to go through alone. And now, I am unstoppable. Would would have known? Than you.
All of our sea turtle releases have had some challenges - as we are located in an area where each fishing village has so many nets in the water all along the coastline. In addition, there are still many people in Haiti who don't yet understand the value and have the desire to want to keep sea turtles alive. They are - after all - a food source for a good majority of Haitians who live in these coastal villages....Our latest green sea turtle release wasn't easy - as the best beach was covered with small rocks which required us to bring the turtle closer to shore in the wheelbarrow. Then, we had to go in the water and make sure the turtle got past any nets....We did it - this turtle went home!
How often do you take a moment to reflect on who made the things you use every day? That’s exactly the goal behind the #WhoMadeMy movement by @fash_rev , and their mission very much aligns with Yobel Market. We carry @haitimadeco leather bracelets, keychains, coffee sleeves, coasters and more.
