Love a back day 💪🏼....died on the pull ups 😅
Today was back day at the gym and I was annoyed because I was feeling tired and lacking strength.😣 Although it doesn't make it less frustrating, I suppose it makes sense considering I have quite a few stressful things going on in my life at the minute, and I haven't been sleeping properly all week.
I ended up having to lower the weight on some exercises and cutting a set here and there.
Objectively it was still a good session, but sometimes it's difficult to admit that you're not always going to be able to perform at your best, that you're also going to have bad days and that it's perfectly normal for that to be the case. I've been guilty of not listening to my body before, pushing through and getting injured as a consequence. I'm still trying to work on that, but the important thing is that I went to the gym and got my session in.
A few ways to work around when you're feeling like that and still want to get some volume in? ☘️Lower the weight a little bit and do a few more reps
🍀Substitute some free weights for machines
🍀Don't get hung up on the volume, as difficult as it can be to come to terms with it, 1 day of less volume is not going to hurt you or make you lose muscle, if your body is not at its peak it's for a reason

Which isn’t surprising in a world consumed with self image, filters, criticism, envy and judgement literally at your fingertips.
