Benefits of multiple training philosophies . I started weight lifting around age 14, and primarily strength trained for football during my Freshman year of High School...we won’t talk about how bad a player I was 🙈😂. . As a freshman in College I picked weights back up, and quickly got hooked into Bodybuilding. Which has a different feel as opposed to strict football strength training. . It’s all about the size, shape, and feeling of the muscles. High volume training, supersets, and strict meal plans. . Towards my senior year in College I began Powerlifting, the ultimate form of strength training for weightlifters. This being different than Football training, because of the lack of running and sprinting. . At each stage of my lifting career I implement small pieces of an old Philosophy into a new one. . Enter in, Yoga, Stability, and Resistance Band training. . As part of my rehabilitation for my shoulder and back, per Doctors and Trainers orders, I’m incorporating more and more stretches and resistance bands into the beginning of the workouts. . These are designed to loosen and strengthen joints, ligaments, and minor muscles not necessarily worked by traditional weights. . Looking back on each phase of my training history I can see clearly what works and what I have learned at each phase. . Incorporating these new movements into my daily schedule already have me feeling better. I know moving forward, I’ll apply this new method to my old school weightlifting heritage! .
