🐷 Fresh baked pork and fennel sausage rolls!
🥧 Can’t believe how easy this was to make, I was trying to mimic the flavour of the Bourke Street Bakery one’s annnnnd I reckon it’s there
🔥 Only downside was that the pork was so juicy it made the base wet, BUT if I had slightly pre-cooked the pork before I probably could have avoided that
🥚 That and the fact I made Fathead Dough without the egg, and the egg probably would have helped set and solidify the base BUT delicious nonetheless

Found a new recipe & adapted it to make it GF, DF & SF. Surprisingly, it came out light, moist, crunchy with a lovely nice hint of cinnamon spice. Then I coated it with my famous chocolate sauce . Tastes dark, decadent & delicious m mmmm 😉

Just slice it, pop it in the toaster (might need a few rounds) until it’s soft. Then top with anything you would normally put on bread. We’ve quickly sautéed some mushrooms and added goats cheese, avocado, pepper and chilli flakes. ✔️ 5 minutes, 2 vegetables, 1 fruit 🥑 + some poached eggs and pesto as a breakfast idea on the weekends or just like this if you’re running out the door on your way to work. All of that healthy fat, fibre and protein will keep you going until lunchtime.

Three things really helped me improving my digestion in the last years :
Cutting out food my body doesn't like (gluten and dairy for me)
Eating sweet stuff before the meal
Drinking before the meal
I'm not sure but I think meditation and regular physical exercise probably also have impacted my digestion in a positive way.
What I want to experience with next : probiotics, intermittent fasting, juicing.
I'm also convinced that we can heal through our thoughts and emotions, even though I never experienced such a thing. But I'll definitely try new meditations and visualisations to see how it works.

Finally got round to reading this New York Times article. Main take from the article- no research studies can be taken as absolute proof. Take the findings with a pinch of salt (haa) when a pro-sugar study is funded by the Sugar Association. Or when a pro-fat study is funded by a Ketogenic group. Or an anti-meat study is funded by a Vegan group. There’s no one size fits all diet. There’s a ton of other factors that individualises your diet such as Epigenetics, gut microbiome, environmental history etc

🍽 Portion control is key - In the heat you lose your appetite a bit. So don't force feed yourself.
Eat when you're hungry and don't when you're not - Be intuitive.....SIMPLE
🍹 Treat yourself to your favourite drink - you are on holiday after all - Just don't over do it on the liquid calories!
🍨 Treat yourself to a yummy dessert every now and then - I bring my own vegan chocolate with me from the UK so I always have something if I start craving sugar 🍫
🎒Come prepared! Bring your own protein powder, healthy treats and protein bars with you so you don't feel too overwhelmed by what to eat - Just remember not to take anything that melts to the beach! 😬
💊 Bring your supplements with you and don't forget to take them. A probiotic and digestive enzyme are key if you suffer from bloating like I do - Especially as your body might not be used to eating certain foods 🗝
😋 If you get food cravings, give into them but keep it portion controlled. There is nothing worse than eating loads of other food to avoid eating what you crave, but because you still crave it, you eat it anyway. If you ate that first you wouldn't have had to eat everything else in between. I've done it myself 🙅♀️
🤸♀️ Move your body! Whether you walk, swim, cycle, run, climb, surf, or do a few exercises in your hotel it's all beneficial 💪🏼
