Have you heard of the golden or magical hour? This is a popular way to refer to the time directly following the birth of your baby. Ample research has shown that this isn’t just a “nice to-do” or “just” for bonding. It tells us that this is the single most important thing you can do to position you and your baby for breastfeeding success. As long as your baby doesn’t need urgent medical treatment, this should be the first and highest priority for parents who want to breastfeed. It should last until your new babe latches and feeds. The vast majority of babies are able to do this with little to no assistance from you OR a nurse in under an hour (if they are left undisturbed and given the space to do so.) Some babies may need a more time, like if you’ve had an epidural or a particularly long or fast birth, and that’s okay! Babies are born with the instinct to breastfeed and most of the time do it well all by themselves.

I was asked by my good friend to shoot his #engagementphotos
. I was definitely honored to shoot them but more than anything, I was excited! I've known @itsq
for a long time and know they're both artists in their own way. So going into this shoot, I already knew they had their own vision and mood planned. And I think its safe to say we nailed it haha. Going to be posting more on my #blog
soon. Congrats you guys! #losangeles #engagementshoot #goldenhour
