Returning to normalcy:
The past two weeks post show have been spent trying to return to a balanced state. The last 4 months of constant cutting, cardio, meal tracking, and judging have put a roll on me both mentally and physically. It was 💯% worth every sacrifice, but I’m glad to be in a long improvement season.
Here are some things I’ve learned post season 1:
🔅 prepare for the bloat. You haven’t eaten sugars, carbs, or fatty foods in a long time. Your body isn’t going to respond well to shoving mass quantities of doughnuts 🍩 and Pizza 🍕 in your face. So enjoy it, but don’t go overboard. But when you do, know that your body is going to swell up like a sausage. 🔅 learn to love your body post stage weight. You’re going to gain weight, some of it will be water, some will be more muscle and fat. Stage weight is not maintainable, and as much as I want to be cut up like a chocolate bar, it’s not realistic. So enjoy the foods you’re able to eat, lift heavier weights while you can, and try new things in and out of the gym.
🔅 give yourself a break. Prep is so hard mentally. Pushing, denying, sacrificing so many things all for one goal. When the season is over, use that time to give yourself praise for all of your accomplishments, you earned every ounce of glory you felt. Be proud of yourself. Stick to your plan, but don’t beat yourself up if you enjoy a cheat meal or miss a cardio session.
🔅always be looking forward: next season is just around the corner, so while your enjoying your growing season, always have a plan set in motion for what lies ahead. Make goal sheets, take progress pictures, reassess what you want — stay consistent and persistent. 🔅 love yourself no matter what .

Failed 255x10x3 workout at set 4, only got 2 reps.
Dropped it down to 240 and did 6x3 of it and it was still a struggle. I can only blame myself for not hitting the gym as often as I should’ve and not pushing myself harder and going to the gym even when I didn’t feel like it. This is the first time since I started lifting where I feel like I gone off track due to my own lack of self discipline. Haven’t had heavy weight on my back since exactly two weeks ago. Who the fk am I anymore 😭
Next time I attempt this squat workout I’ll kill it.

How Cardio Kills your gains, a lot of people these days overdo cardio I'm not saying Cardio doesn't have a place in most programs especially if your cutting or want to lose bodyfat , but it's definitely possible to overdo it, particularly if you do hours of it every week -
First, overdoing cardio training can dramatically decrease your total force generation capacity, which may mean you don't have the energy to produce the growth stimulus you need during your lifting session. And if you're eating to build muscle, you especially need to maximize your strength training. Otherwise, you set yourself up to add fat where muscle should be
Second, too much cardio stacked on top of weight training can also cause your testosterone levels to drop. those who have low testosterone levels tend to maintain higher body fat levels and lower levels of total lean mass
In my opinion the best cardio is HIIT Cardio you can do it at the end of your every lifting sessions 10 to 15 mins max or twice a week first thing in the morning on empty stomach but no longer than 15 minutes -
bottom line if you overdo cardio you will end up losing muscle mass instead of fat because your body will hold onto the fat as long as it could and sacrifice all the muscle mass you've been building, you really don't want that do you -
⛔YOU CAN'T OUTRUN A BAD DIET if your nutrition isn't on point NO amount of cardio will get you the body of your dreams you're just exhausting yourself doing more harm than good to your body

Chest day gains. Sometimes doing less weight for more reps actually works out better, for me anyway. I find that it builds endurance and strength 💪🏽👌🏽🙏🏽🔥
