I sure learned a lot about my stash this week.. chapter 7 of the fussy Cut Sampler focused on scattered prints, and we'll I just don't have very many in my stash. But somehow I was able to piece together block 27 of 48. I racked my brain on this one and moved my ruler around quite a bit to figure out how to achieve forced directionality. #feliegetsfussy#thefussycutsamplerqal2#cottonandsteel
Went to #Joanns today and found a lot of great fabric on sale. I’m not sure what I’ll make with it yet, but I couldn’t pass up all this nice fabric. In the middle, is a book I found at a different fabric store. It has a lot of great information. #fussycuttersclub#fabric#handmade#joannsfabric

A gorgeous Seattle afternoon with the girls playing outside meant I was able to get some afternoon sewing in! A little bit of uninterrupted sewing fresh off the ironing board, block 26 of 48 for the Fussy Cut Sampler. This little racoon and his flower gets me every time! #feliegetsfussy#thefussycutsamplerqal2#cottonandsteel
A focus of black and white paired with a bright pop of color.. block 25 of 48 for the Fussy Cut Sampler. I fussy cut the teal out of the pink because it's not part of the color scheme, and I'm really trying to use my current stash. #feliegetsfussy#thefussycutsamplerqal2#cottonandsteel
I'm titling block 22 of 48 "Curious Little Racoon" I admit I was a little hesitant using these adorable little racoons, but man oh man isolating them into five little fussy cuts I'm in love.. and changes the whole vibe! #feliegetsfussy#thefussycutsamplerqal2#cottonandsteel
I took my sewing machine to get serviced last week and received a call that I blew a transformer, not exactly ideal when you want to sew all the things, (insert Felie's sad face here) my backup has been getting it done but I'll be happy when my Pfaff comes back, like super happy. It's probably why I procrastinated in sewing Block 21 of 48 for the Fussy Cut Sampler. #thefussycutsamplerqal2#feliegetsfussy#cottonandsteel
This is the last one for the week - just under the wire ⭐️
Lots of meaning tied up into this one and this quilt when it is finished belongs to @char_24_4ever ⭐️
When she was 2 yrs old my youngest got HUS (hemolytic uremic syndrome) from E. Coli in some packaged lunch meat she had been given. She was not expected to live. In complete organ failure on 24/7 dialysis (emergency surgery to put her on it). I was told all you have is hope. I replied, “hope is powerful.”
She survived after being in a coma for awhile. When I was able to take her home I had to teach her to everything all over again (sit, stand, walk, feed herself). We did yoga everyday. It was healing for both of us and the first follow up with the neurologist when he was testing her she miss understood one thing he said to be “tree pose” which she promptly assumed 🤣
She now sees nephrology on occasion but was fully discharged from neurology and she has stumped them all her recovery. I said - hope is powerful...
Hour glasses have the tears that were like rain and the golden horses for how blessed and lucky I am that she came through. So lucky.
Oh and I may dream of cake, wine and shoes too like in the block 😁
