❄️Frosty mornings ❄️
Having trouble getting out of bed this winter?
Getting started on a frosty morning can be tough, and things can go from bad to worse if you can’t get your car started in sub zero conditions.❄️
Luckily, the team at Morley Auto Group (MAG) has some handy tips to keep you on the road and on time for work this winter:
❄️To remove ice from your windscreen it’s best to start the engine and set the demister on first, then pour cool water over the windscreen. Pouring any warm or hot water can cause cracking and require a windscreen to be replaced.
❄️If you’re parking outside regularly, invest in an external windscreen shade to prevent ice from settling on frosty mornings.
❄️Winter is also a time when batteries tend to be stressed and can fail, so it's always a good idea to have your battery tested (which we can do for you) to ensure you won't be stuck out in the cold.
❄️We all live in a busy world and want to just jump in the car, start the engine and drive off. However, to prolong the life of your vehicle it is best to warm up the engine first, no matter how far you are going. During winter, once you can feel your heater warming your toes, you’re good to go. Also wait for the engine temperature gauge to warm up a little. ❄️Many vehicles are now fitted with front and rear fog lights, so make sure you turn them on when it’s foggy, to ensure you’re seen on the road. ❄️Finally, several newer cars are also fitted with frost or ice warning lights on the dash, which are designed to warn of road dangers such as black ice.
Stay safe on the roads this winter and be sure to touch base with our service team at MAG if you have any questions about how to take good care of your car in winter, and all year round.
This is my home and studio in Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 Three years ago I woke up to snow ❄ It's a phenomena that happens every 30 years or so in the Sunshine State. The great thing about working from home is that getting snowed in means you can still go to work... and build a snow man in your lunch break ☃️
