Crystal has been with CrossFit Vector since November of last year. She has made many improvements with her fitness. She is disciplined, courageous, and determined to become the best example to her family.
Meet Crystal Bazaldua
Occupation: Commercial Interior Designer
Which class and time do your normally attend? 4:30am
Favorite Workout? Murph
Favorite Lift or Movement? Deadlift
How long have you been CrossFitting? 8 months
What keeps you coming back? The progress, the strength I continue to gain.
How did you get introduced to CrossFit? I was bored with my gym routine so I searched for a new way to stay active and came across CrossFit.
How did you end up at CrossFit Vector? I did a search around the area and found Vector only 3 minutes away from home. Perfect drive.
What is your athletic background? I have never been into sports or done anything close to athletic until after my son was born 3 years ago and I forced myself into the gym and I grew to love fitness and nutrition.
What is one thing you have done here at CrossFit Vector that you never thought you could do? Rope climb
What motivates/inspires you? Seeing myself grow stronger and seeing others at Vector grow and improve motivates me as well.
What is your proudest CrossFit achievement? Rope climb and toes to bar
What is one goal you are currently working on with CrossFit? Double unders
What goals have you already accomplished in CrossFit? Box jumps, I was so scared of hitting my shin. Now I just need to work on moving up in height.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of CrossFit? Be honest...what is your nutrition like? I love design so I constantly stay busy in updating our house and activities with my little one.
I would like to say my nutrition stays healthy about 90% of the time. I love sweets but I try and stick to being healthy because I want my son to grow up eating the same.
Have any advice for new members? Keep trying even when it seems too difficult.

Tonight I took a little bit of my own medicine. || I started teaching group fitness almost 5 years ago and it’s my favorite way to work out. There’s a high level of accountability in the room - the instructor’s eyes are on you and there’s an unspoken agreement that no one quits until the class is over, no matter how much your legs shake. I joke with people that I can’t workout on my own without a class environment, but I tell clients all the time that they can do what we do in class at home if they can’t make it into the studio, take a vacation, etc. Well, I did it y’all. Did some research on watermelon🤷🏻♀️and besides it being delicious and low calorie, despite being so sweet(craver reducer!), it also helps cut recovery time in post-exercised muscles! Add, yet another reason, watermelon is amazing🍉#day4

I’m nearing the end of my nursing program and couldn’t be more overwhelmed and stressed. And then juggling work and photography on top of it.
Go ahead and hit me with that, we make time for the things we want, etc. Well guess what, right now all i want is a full 8 hours of sleep and to eat delicious food 😅
So for this phase of my life, i will absorb and enjoy it till I’m ready to get back to the grind of dieting and lifting 💪🏼
