When we were at the beach this past week, we stumbled upon this Raw Juice Cafe @therawjuicecafe
. This place was so awesome, it’s 100 % Vegan, lots of fresh juices/smoothies and ice-cream made from frozen bananas 🍌!! We make this at home all the time but I was so excited to find it out at a restaurant. My kids actually got to go in a store to get “ice-cream” which was an amazing treat to them! The cafe also had these absolutely delicious Raw Snickers Bars. Now I’ve got to figure out how to make these at home 🤔!! I hope to keep seeing these type of restaurants opening up. This is why it’s so important to support local stores! Go check them out if you are in the St. Augustine/Palm Coast area of Florida 🏖.
Happy Monday furriends😽 I know I shared with you all (a long time ago) that I’d been dealing with some strange allergies and food sensitivities. Well after about 6 months without any sort of allergic reaction or breakout I seem to somehow be back to square one😿 My humans think that I had some of @harleythesiberiankitty
food that I’m not supposed to eat and that that’s what caused my mouth to hurt again, but if that isn’t the case they don’t know what could have spurred my recent allergy attack. We’re visiting my vet just to make sure there’s nothing else going on. It’s probably nothing to worry about but I’d appreciate any love and positivity you can send my way! After feeling so good for so long these past few days of being sick have been no fun😾 Thanks all! I’m so grateful for this pawesome kitty community
’s post today about donuts got me thinking back to my trip last year with the fam to Chicago. Wishing I had some more gluten free sprinkle donut magic from @doritedonuts
I woke up today being self destructive.
I woke up today with inflammation, depression, dizziness and fatigue.
I ate a freaking white sweet potato.
No biggie right.
My body is currently attacking itself when I eat vegetables, most all fruit and grains. Especially 🌽. I’ve never experienced anything so brutal in my life but if I keep it under control then my body responds beautifully!
So why did I eat it?
I believe that I’m going to heal from this and so I have to try things when I haven’t had them in a while. I’m not giving up on getting my health back. I just tried to soon and that’s ok.
Left picture is me a year ago and the right is me just the other day. Obvious changes in inflammation not to mention a 22lb weight loss in only two months of changing the way I eat. Things you can’t see are the ability to stand for longer than 5 minutes, not having to use a shower chair, not wanting to commit suicide. Let’s be real. I was suicidal for months and months. I am not a superhero. I am not anything special. I am human.
But here I am..
A L I V E✨
So with this reminder I’m going to chill the fuck out, give myself some grace and keep on the path that’s helping me get well.
This journey has made me hyper aware of everything and with that comes a new respect for the ☀️ the 🌙 and the 🌏. Losing touch with grounding to the earth, being in nature, bathing in the sun and only staying on your phone and in negativity will wreck havoc on you.
Connect to what makes you feel whole.
Practice self love, self forgiveness and grace.
Get rid of negativity in all areas.
Set boundaries for yourself.
You will heal.
I am healing.
It’s all a journey✨.

I just need a moment to talk about this incredible girl. She is resilient, happy, strong, smart, and loving. She sees the doctor more often than many children and she takes multiple medications daily. She’s excluded at times and she’s well aware of it, despite some people saying she probably doesn’t even notice. She points out the fact that she can’t drink the jug of milk I put in the shopping cart. She asks me often if I’m allowed to eat peanuts. She loves that we sing “Soft Kitty” when we do her inhaler. Despite all of the craziness that is her allergy and asthma life, she is the happiest, silliest kid I’ve ever known. It’s all about the life you make for them, not the circumstances they’re dealt. .

We've been trying different milks with our 1-year-old son because we think cow's milk is irritating his stomach. This week's trial was goat's milk! .
Did you know that cartons of all kinds can be recycled? Our family recycles WAY more than we throw things away, and this pic shows this week's recycling haul! .
to get the full scoop where, why, and how you can recycle your cartons!
For those of us with Digestive Issues tummy troubles are a part of life on the reg.😉🙄
However, when we stick to our planned treatments and follow a clean and careful diet, it’s possible to keep out symptoms at bay.👍🏽
🤰( I know she’s preegers, but we’re pretending that she has a really bloated tummy!😄)
Smaller meals make it easier for our stress digestive systems to process food and with the right foods (for your digestive contdition; IBS,Hiatal Hernia, and other issues) help our body to better absorb much needed nutrients.
Ok, who’s ever held their poops because you didn’t want to get out of bed😄or in a hurry or any number of reasons?? It’s a bad habit to be onto👎🏽 and it’s a surefire road to constipation!💩💩
Keeping a food diary is a must for managing what foods effect our digestive health and to mind how much we’re actually eating!🤭☺️
Learning what your trigger foods are and avoiding them is KEY to tummy relief and comfort! This is why it’s so important to log your foods and be mindful of what you’re eating and how you feel throughout the day.📝
Fiber is great but with digestive issues [too much or the type]can be less than a boon for our troubled tummy’s!
I love chomping through big chopped salads, but I’ve had to downsize those salad portions, along with raw veggies and even portions of green smoothies🤨💁🏽♀️
This has made a big difference in my tummy bloat and discomfort👏🏽
I’ve also switched from my usual fiber supplement to (no sponsor) Herbal Secrets Organic Whole Psyllium Husk, found on Amazon of course😆. Let’s just say my body likes this fiber!😬💩😆 It’s flavorless, sugarless and is more effective than Benefiber or other one’s I’ve used.👏🏽👏🏽
I don’t like it but at times it’s necessary to take a perscribed med for digestive disorders. It’s important to keep an open dialogue with your health care provider so that you can feel comfortable about addressing all of your concerns.
Small managable steps add up to big health improvements!👍🏽🙋
If you’re smart you’ll have a Linzer Tart 💌
Had the best weekend at the @gfafexpo
in Worcester, MA! Met so many fellow GF bloggers, tore up the town with @glutengossip
, and tried some incredible brands! ✨My two favorite new finds were the pizza rolls from @smartflourfoods
and the cheese bread from @brazi_bites
🤩 I couldn’t get enough! Hate to see it end, but I’ll probably have enough GF snacks to last me until the next one 😂
Keep it simple ladies!🍓
When you are trying to figure out foods that don’t agree with your body whether it’s because of bloat, eczema, brain fog, etc., the easiest way to discover the culprit is to do an elimination diet.
Today the ladies in our Beat Belly Bloat program are adding back in their first food today, YASSSS!! 🙌🏻 When we add a food back in we keep the food super simple without a ton of ingredients. So for example we add back in yogurt or butter for dairy, pasta for gluten, hard boiled eggs, corn on the cob or soy-free tortilla chips, edamame or tofu for soy.
We use these foods as a tool to be able to uncover foods that are inflammatory to our body so we can create your personal roadmap to health! If you want to learn more about these tools, grab my free guide in the link in my bio 👉🏻 @exsoycise
“You are my sunshine” ☀️🌈
The first thing I did after my POF diagnosis was to google POF success stories. I kid you not. It was a while later when I thought to myself that this was exactly the attitude that I needed and that has kept me sane and on my path. I just knew that this diagnosis was not as final as the FS made it out to seem.
Alas, there was hope. Lots of it! Many success stories using Chinese herbs and acupuncture, using natural plant-based and flower remedies, fertility massages, castor oil packs and so much more!
I realised that as long as it took for me to get pregnant, this would be ALL that I thought about. I thought about it day and night, researched, read, used valuable work hours reading new articles, following new healers. It consumed ALL of me. Finding more information became something that I craved almost unhealthily, but it was all I could do to remain positive.
The only reason I thought about going to a homeopath is because a colleague of mine once told me a story about how her mother was diagnosed with infertility and her doctor said she would never fall pregnant. However, after one visit to a homeopath, the doctor (using iridology), diagnosed an underactive pituitary and my colleague had actually ended up being a honeymoon baby and has 2 younger siblings.
The 2 hour consultation was unlike any I had ever had with a medical professional. I had to answer a myriad of questions about areas in my life such as my sleeping patterns, moods, energy levels, libido, eyesight, quality of hair and nails etc.
Dr H is a phenomenal lady and healer. She told me that she really wanted to help me (I believed her) but that regarding falling pregnant, she couldn’t make any promises. However, based on my outlook, and ability to follow through with the treatment plan, that it was very likely I would get a positive result.

This was a delicious gluten/dairy free meal. I'm finding Colorado a friendly state for eating out! It seems there are a lot of health conscious diners here. Eating out can be challenging with food allergies so I always appreciate restaurants who understand and make an effort to accommodate.
I had to share because of my own experience with food allergies and how our probiotic has helped me tremendously!
FYI I still have a severe allergy to mushrooms, pecans and pine nuts. But I can now eat dozens of other foods without a reaction. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
This blows my mind!! Rachel’s first test showed she was allergic to 623 things, mostly food. Is that not like ALL the things?!?! 😮
After rebuilding her #guthealth
she re-tested: ONLY 7 AIRBORN ALLERGIES! and NO FOOD allergies! 😮 ☝️Just in case you wonder why we’re a bit passionate about gut health! ☝️🙌❤🌱. Cynthia Cox
This weekend we attended the Gluten Free Expo @ the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Every year I attend, I leave feeling so grateful for how much the Celiac & Gluten Free Community has grown. When I was first diagnosed with Celiac Disease by endoscopy (since there wasn’t a blood test developed at the time), I remember feeling so overwhelmed. When I walked into my local Stop & Shop there wasn’t a “gluten free isle” there was a 2 shelf section consisting of primarily cereals. I ate cereal, boiled chicken, and chicken soup made of boiled chicken broth for about a month. My mom bought every single book and cookbook to learn what I could eat and hopefully find more options. I’m emotional writing this considering the hundreds of brands that have developed gluten free options since my diagnosis. In conclusion, thank you to everyone who contributes to the gluten free/allergen conscious community. I am truly lucky to be a fellow Celiac that has a platform to speak about such important developments. -

It’s Simply Plated Monday, when I feature an easy plate of food you can cook at home. Oh man, it’s warm outside! I enjoy an easy green salad with chopped carrot and mushrooms, hold the tomatoes or peppers, and a homemade oil and vinegar dressing. Wild King salmon baked with chervil and lemon pepper for 25 minutes, wrapped in foil. Brown rice Tinyaka noodles, topped with your favorite non-dairy spread, or try flaxseed oil, salt and pepper. Simple and delicious! Next few days, I’ll be increasing the phytonutrients in prep for race day. Happy birthday, Allergy Dish! 🎉 It's hard to believe, but it's been one year since we jumped into the blogosphere. And, what a year it’s been...
Pushing the "publish" button for the first time was truly one of the scariest things I've ever done. Being vulnerable is just hard. It doesn't matter if your gut is screaming at you and you know deep in your heart that it's the right thing to do. But, when we share pieces of ourselves, we inevitably build community. When we talk about our struggles, what scares us, what encourages us and what we've learned along the way, we connect ourselves to others. And, that has has meant everything to me this past year. YOU - and this amazing food allergy community of ours - have been the most rewarding part.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for your open hearts, words of encouragement and affirmation that my family isn't alone. Thank you for making me feel a part of something so much bigger than me. While I started this blog to help others, I'm quite certain that I"m the one whose benefited the most. 💙
P.S.- Special thanks to @halelifebakery
in Clearwater, Florida for the awesome allergy-safe celebratory cupcake! 😘

Food is medicine. Beginning the morning prepping the body for a blood sugar cleanse starting mid week.
Body sugar testing, fasting blood sugar numbers, cortisol, progesterone, estrogen, and function testing on adrenals and thyroid.
Starting the week with IgG testing for food allergies. I'm pretty in tune with the body but let's see if the test matches my awareness. And let the interviewing skills with functional medicine practitioners begin. This is my jam. 🤓
"Functional Medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease."

We're so grateful for everyone that helped us get to this point and so excited to bring an allergy clinic, that can help so many people, to the Charlotte market.
Check out our website (allergenuityhealth.com) and see what we do...especially if you have any kind of allergies.
I’m celebrating a bit of a milestone today. I’ve officially lost 1/3 of the weight that I want and need to lose. When I started 2018, I had a cluster of autoimmune symptoms: brain fog, achy joints and other pain specifically associated with Sjögren’s Syndrome, a compromised digestive system, and chronic fatigue. I was deeply depressed (but unable to take antidepressants because I react to them), and I was prediabetic. On New Year’s Eve I started a serious health journey. I began to trim out the foods that I was reacting to. I didn’t get it right immediately; I needed certain blood tests to help figure it out. As of today, the brain fog is gone, along with the depression. I also move fluidly, and I am 98-99% pain free. This is not the end of the journey. I’ve got a ways to go. But I am dropping weight, slowly but surely, despite the fact that I am in my mid-50s and post-menopausal. And I am beyond thrilled to have my creativity kick-started again. Onward. #keto #ketolife #ketodiet #ketotransformation #foodallergies #foodintolerances #autoimmunedisorder #writersofinstagram #authorsofinstagram #gratefuleveryday
Waking up with more rain 😏 and entering this week on what feels like a total WHIM this morning 🤷🏻♀️... and I’m embracing it! 🤗
After running around DC this weekend in torrential downpours ☔️, and getting back to NYC late (ok, so 8pm, but that’s late for me 🙈), nothing is prepped - food or work wise - and I didn’t touch my inbox all weekend... and I’m feeling alright with that! 🙃
But also on that note, my weekly goals are quite fitting... ✨ 1. Try not to sweat the small stuff... ✨ 2. Take time for YOU each morning (breathe quietly, meditate, journal)... ✨ 3. Go with the flowwww (a personal hardest when it’s PMS time!) ...

Homeopathy dates back to the late 1700s, and today the World Health Organization recognizes it as “the second largest therapeutic system in use in the world.” Hundreds of different homeopathic remedies are now in existence. Homeopathic medicine comes from a range of natural substances, which can either be plant, mineral or animal-based. Examples of substances that a homeopathic doctor might use to treat a patient include: fresh or dried herbs, activated charcoal, vinegar, garlic, caffeine, mountain herbs, crushed bees, white arsenic, poison ivy and stinging nettle plants. These substances are extracted or processed in another way to create tablets, skin ointments, gels, drops or creams.
What are some commonly-known homeopathic remedies you might recognize? St. John’s Wort, chamomile, calcium carbonate, potassium and silica, for example.
Homeopathic medicine is considered to be a safe practice and remedies have been regulated by the FDA since the late 1980s. While there’s been much debate in the medical community over the years regarding whether or not homeopathic medicines work, many patients are able to find relief from illnesses like food or seasonal allergies, insomnia, fatigue, acute and chronic ailments and so on using very small doses of natural, safe homeopathic solutions. ✨
