Loving this program and the results so far.  Going into week six and I feel amazing. Especially since my 🍑 is getting a much needed lift, lol! . . When you focus on being “present” in the moment (mentally and physically), you’ll most likely enjoy the experience more.  Stop comparing yourself “now” to what you were “then”. And just get on with being better every day.  Any progress, is still progress. . . Man it was so amazing to unplug and spend time away. Often times we find ourselves in the midst of hustle and bustle and doing day to day things but we wind up frazzled and overworked. That was me two years ago. Literally Saturday mid morning the opportunity presented itself and I choose to hop in the car (with tons of snacks) 😝 and head off to the sandy beaches! It was amazing. It was freeing. It was empowering. But the one thing that constantly played in my head is ; why don’t we all do this more? Fear is often the leading factor. I know it was for me. I would have never done this. But now I realize I’m more fearful not living my life by design, more fearful of not jumping in the car, more fearful of not taking the chance. Gosh; friends hear my heart—- this life is meant to be lived so boldly. So yes I’m going to shout it out to the rooftops that because of the opportunity given to me two years ago —- I am alive, I am on my way to a debt free life, I am surrounding myself with incredible people, I am living my healthiest life, and I am choosing to step out on fear and dream bigger, love more, dream bolder, and choose life! How many of you struggle to maintain a healthy diet with a full work schedule? That's been my struggle as of late and I think finally got a hold of it! I've learned how to incorporate a full work schedule with a healthy and BALANCED eating style. Let's face it, working a full schedule especially one where you're sitting for most of the day (office jobs etc...) Can become an easy way to fall into old habits. i.e. : Snacking at work to keep your energy levels up and feeling too drained to hit the gym after. Not to mention the likelihood of forming bad posture from hunching over! What I do instead of sitting for eight hours with little to no movement is regularly timed stretching and walking around my office. Keep your blood flowing as much as you can to prevent clotting and bad circulation. This also helps you take your mind off of work for a bit. I try to do this at the top of every hour and it's really helped! As for snacking, pack yourself some healthy fats like almonds or other nuts and a source of potassium like a banana or dried apricots. The healthy fats keep you satisfied for longer, keeping those bored nibbles at bay while the potassium acts as an electrolyte, helping your energy levels and digestive system! 😊❤ What works for you?! Yesterday, I accidentally got a sunburn because I spent so much time outside in the ☀️ beautiful, near 70* weather. ☀️ Today, I woke up to ❄️❄️snow and below freezing temps🌨🌬 But, it’s always warm in the gym, so a quad-focused leg day seemed appropriate! Here are a few of the exercises in my routine today: 1. Kettlebell Goblet Squat. 2. Leg Press 3. Sissy Squats (what is with that name??) I am placing my hand on my abs here to remind myself to keep it tight throughout the set so that my back doesn’t overarch. Also did down-up-down walking lunges, leg extensions, and calf raises. It sounds like a lot, but staying focused and timing rests had me finished in an hour! What’s the weather like where you are? And are you hitting the gym even though it’s (for most of you)your extra day off??
When I hear the term or someone tells me they want to “tone” I quickly correlate this to “lifting heavier weights.” I also understand that in a clients mind, they likely have a picture of someone who is relatively lean but doesn’t look like there on some bodybuilder ish lol. Yoo I get it! BUT... . . That toned look is not going to become visible unless you have a solid base of muscle mass. If you have only been doing (or mostly) cardio, cycling, yoga, Zumba, etc... then you’re not going to achieved a “toned” look. No amount of fat loss will tone you up. Y? A mostly cardio regimen will not yield muscle mass. U must have muscle mass to look toned. This requires lifting heavy weights. And this is verryyyy diffuclcult for women. It takes years for the women to achieve there dream look. Consistency is key. . . 🔴If you are overweight, you will need to shed a few pounds 1st . Then develop a consistent heavy weight lifting program. . . 🔵 If you’re not overweight, you need to get a consistent weight lifting plan, eating plan where you’re in a surplus and cutting several times over before you start seeing results. Patience is key unless you get on them roids. I hopes this helps. I want you to clearly understand it takes hard work to be toned. . . Need assistance adjusting your current workout regimen?
