HAPPY MONDAY! Thought I’d share with you some of my favorite stretches/movements I like to use warm-up with before a workout:
• mountain climber to opposite toe touch
• knee to nose to 3-legged dog
• runners lunge to twist
• plank up-downs to froggers
• forward lunges to twist
• cossack squats (2 ways)
• squat to standing bicycle crunches
It’s best to do dynamic stretches or movements like these before your workouts because they prepare your body for exercise by activating your muscles aka warming them up. It also helps to improve your range of motion and body awareness. An easy way to do this is to choose 3-5 ranges of motion (or exercises) that you will be working through during your workout and move through them as your warm-up. These could be things like squats, lunges, push-ups, etc. 🏋🏼♀️
Static stretching, on the other hand, (when you hold a stretch) should be used as part of your cool down to prevent injury and improve flexibility. 👍🏼
It’s recommended to hold each posture for 30-60 secs, doing your best to fully relax and release the muscle. How do you warm-up and cool down? 🤸🏼♀️

This is what it looks like to put blood, sweat & tears into a workout.
Today's workout was fueled by yesterday's pastries, pizza & gelato, and as a result it was LEGENDARY and not for the faint of heart.
I skinned my shin, sweat puddles all over the floor and cried during my last set of HIIT.
It was hard AF but I didn't do it as "punishment" for eating all the food in Chicago.
I did it because that's what I genuinely LOVE to do; I love to push myself a little harder than I think I am capable and SUCCEED!
I did it because I have goals and dreams that are so big they scare me a little bit [ok, A LOT] and I'm willing to work my butt off to accomplish them.
I did it because today, for the first time since I started pursuing this crazy bodybuilding/fitness thing, I hired a coach and I'm not willing to let her or myself down by slacking off for a single second in the next 11 weeks.
I am in no way more "hardcore" or "better" because of this...but, MAYBE, being a little "extra" in this prep will be what allows me to take this journey to the next level!
So cheers to the next 11 weeks.

Guilty! 🙋🏻 I keep thinking it will all change even though I don't change anything. My routine, my fitness and my relationship with food. I need to make these changes because my life depends on it. Not just longevity but the quality of life I want. I mentally feel 21, but my body feels 60. I'm 32....
let’s talk about booty gains: eat a lot of good food to sustain you and then go do compound lifts (ex: squats & deadlifts). I’ve had much more success in building both quad and glute muscles by doing compound lifts than isolation exercises 👊🏼🔥
Hi everyone! 🙋🏻♀️ I haven’t posted one of these in a little while. I want to point out the obvious, that many of us can forget very easily that progress takes TIME, and to build some nice muscle and strength it also takes lots of time and CONSISTENCY. So with that being said I do see some BABY progress in terms of getting a little leaner and gaining some muscle. I briefly want to share with you that for me working out helps me distress and decompress it’s my main reason I workout. The added benefits is that as you go and you see curves and nice muscles and then you simply want more and more of them. But the best thing I promise you is that great feeling after a workout and those endorphins that can shift your mood and perspective in just one workout. Because you get this feeling after every single workout. I want to encourage you to try exercise and see for yourself how you feel. Also on another note have a fantastic Monday and week! Kick ass and refocus if you need to! Sending you all a big hug and positive vibes! ❤️

Each chapter is there to create the whole piece for a purpose. You can’t have the middle without the beginning and you sure as hell cant have an ending and there be no beginning. Trust the process.
