“Don't compare your life to others. There's no comparison between the sun and the moon. They shine when it's their time.”
Social media has recently conditioned us to compare our lives, our bodies and our experiences to everyone else’s. If navigating through this already weird world wasn’t hard enough, we’ve added judgement and insecurities into the picture. Always feeling like we need to capture every moment and get that perfect photo. The reality with that is, those are milliseconds of someone else’s life. Don’t forget there are 86,400,000 milliseconds in a day and you are only observing one of those in every highly thought out, overly filtered photo that is posted on anyone’s page. Let us not forget about actual life- experiencing things on your time and being able to create your own thoughts and memories around that event. Creating human connections and talking to people face to face. Becoming a @mtnchicks
ambassador has reminded me of this on every hike. It’s not about the perfect group shot at the top of the summit, or carrying the lightest backpack or hiking the fastest, but it’s about the human connection these ladies are creating with each other to empower and encourage one another.
