In case you haven't caught on, yesterday was mine and my husband's second wedding anniversary.
The photos don't show it, but - I ran away in Central Park over unmanaged expectations on day two, I hit a stick in the road riding my bike to the Upper East Side that hurdled me over the handle bars onto 1st Avenue in my wedding dress cutting up my whole bod yesterday, and I've had a million bouts of severe nausea and stomach pain everytime I've eaten everyday since day one.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY GETAWAY FISCHERS
But guys, 'Happy Anniversary Getaway Fischers' is right! Nick chased me down in the pouring rain, he got me bandaged up with his lion-hearted compassion ASAP to get me laughin' and (somehow) walkin' five minutes after I just ate NYC dirt, and the guy gave me all the kindness and waited in a thirty minute line to buy me a jar of applesauce to sip on.
I didn't want any of the anger, freak accidents, or pain interfering with our trip but because they crept in the mister and I both got to meet Acceptance-With-Joy, a nice little smiley feeling that grips ya harder than anything else everytime you let her.
So we let her! And that made the trip. Friends, don't let unintended crap rob you of the endless opportunities to show intentional joy this season of your life. I wasn't perfect these past four and a half days but luckily I've got a husband who helped make me look like this beaming kid amongst gallery emulations of Acceptance-With-Joy - holding tight to applesauce, embracing blisters, working with my new scars, and bearing through tummy aches.
Be patient bearing together in love and you get patience bearing with you in love. 💕

Tonight’s deep Shred Kitchen thoughts brought to you by Rob & Mel (but mostly Rob.)
Anyone else find listening to their voice really weird to listen to on video? Here we are learning the very beginning of The Fight! @sassdefense @episcopalhs
I will always love this photo, taken before I ever knew how hard I’d have to fight for these kids. It’s easy to long for these fun, fanciful and decadent times. But the power comes from realizing how unsustainable they were.
Let’s be VERY clear: you will NOT reach your goals if you do not have a strong nutritional foundation.
The problem? We live in a time where information about food is so convoluted. Half-truths, fad diets, misconceptions, and bad information formed from subjective perspectives.
The solution? For the past 5-week’s, Chuck and Ricky put together a in-depth podcast series on the fundamental truths of nutrition, how your nutrition impacts your body at a molecular level, and what you ought to be eating to reach your goals.
Do yourself a favor and gain the knowledge to fuel the best you.

If I'm going to rewarm this morning's coffee at 1:25 in the afternoon, I'm going to at least make biscotti to go with. I haven't completely compromised my standards 😉
On a more serious note, I feel entirely discouraged by the monotony of motherhood today. The dishes, the laundry, the crumbs, the relentless repetition of it all. Despite the fact that I am reading two books about motherhood and all the meaning it holds and how much gospel happens in those motions, I couldn't be more disconnected from that reality.
That struggle is affirming what I knew yesterday, and feel with a burden today: I cannot will a redeemed life. My wanting it so does not make it so. It is both a burden and a freedom to feel in the deepest parts of my sin-ridden soul that prayer alone is the path to such life-transforming redemption of purpose.
The burden is in knowing I will continue to fail daily if I do not seek the One who has won my victory. The freedom is in knowing my efforts amount to nothing and it is wholly by His grace...even in prayer it is my Father who has drawn me in.
Maybe the game changer is caring enough. Caring about eternity and future generations and stewardship enough to keep me on my knees in desperation. Rather than being satisfied with appearances. Rather than feeling like I've "passed" if my Instagram life looks pulled together and people I know tell me how well my children behave. Maybe this social media culture has lowered the standard and defaced the value of all the things that happen in between the feed. When we give an account, it won't be for the life portrayed in that grid. I need eyes to see the Kingdom coming, and spiritual grit to wage the messy, daily war that ensures I receive a rich welcome (2 Peter 1:10-11).

✨ Fight the G O O D fight 💪🏼
// Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. I’m all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.// 1 Peter 1:3-6

is a blast to work with (swipe left) & she has improved so much since we first started...which wasn't too long ago. We goof around and have fun, but it's cool to see someone truly wanting to learn and get better at something that may not have been on their radar prior. Hannah is coming into her own with this boxing stuff, and she is truly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Now I know these boxing sessions are primarily taken for the purpose of fitness, but I decided to make a bold & dramatic statement up there. Seriously though, I hope no one is planning on reckon...reckoning wit...🤔
Great job, Hannah! 🥊👍🏼👊🏼🥊
Thank you all so much for the incoming love! I just wanted to reach out and let all of you know that this project/group is going to be a little slow to start while I manage Wedding Season quickly approaching. But I expect to be fully launched by the beginning of 2019! I am grateful for your patience and excited to slowly build momentum because great things take time!
So where am I at this point?
I have launched the group/project name and social media accounts and created the St. Louis Good Vibes group.
Next step is to add an introduction video to all of our social media accounts and the group to help people better understand the mission and purpose of the group/project.
After that, I will be adding verification questions to the group.
The requirements will be that you:
A. Are a Saint Louis or Missouri Wedding Vendor.
B. You are interested in Networking with other like minded, supportive, helpful and kind Wedding Professionals.
C. You care about the greater good, volunteering and being charitable and giving back to the community, you have a goal to enrich the community in some way and you are connected to charities and organizations within the community.
D. You don’t mind sharing things you’ve learned within the Industry. And you are open to sharing referrals with the group.
E. You are willing to participate and be active in monthly challenges and monthly topic discussions.
F. You are willing to encourage and uplift your fellow Vendors.
You must meet all requirements and demonstrate how you believe you are a good candidate for St. Louis Good Vibes.
So, if you want to be connected to a really great group of Wedding Professionals who are out here making a change in the Community and fighting the good fight, consider following my progress with the group/project. My goal is to create a Good Vibe atmosphere or Good Vibe Army if you will.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if everyone you had to work with this Season was amazing and wonderful and helpful and you had that peace of mind because you already know what kind of person they are?
Wouldn’t that help us all better serve our clients to make sure they’re connected to good people?
Then join us!
🔥🔥🔥 Although most of us don’t have a martyr’s mindset like Paul, what can we learn from him about our life purpose and path to achieving it?
Paul wrote: “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.” —Philippians 1:20-24
Although Paul was torn between two paths, his purpose was crystal clear—that Christ would be honored in his body, whether by life or by death.
So when faced with a fork in the road, perhaps we shouldn’t focus on “our future” as much as we should focus on “our fruit” that will be produced as a result of the path we choose.
“Jesus is most magnified in us when we are most satisfied in Him” —John Piper
