This morning I was in a meeting and one of the lovely ladies in there said she cleaned out her closet. She had wanted to do it for a while and just decided to do a purge. After it was done she felt so good and organized and rejuvenated. I came home and this afternoon I decided I had two closets that needed cleaning. I kept saying I’d do it but never did. So I took a little nap, had some caffeine, pulled out the bags, and got to work. This is the after math. My front closet is way more organized and there’s so much I didn’t need. I finally have things organized and the old stuff out. I found things I’ve been looking for and couldn’t find. Now it’s off to Goodwill. I feel better and happier. It was a very productive Thursday? Good morning sunshines🌸 I’m one of those who always eats breakfast. Since I’ve been a little girl I was always told ‘it’s the most important meal of the day’ (even if coco pops had to count as breakfast) today some people seems to disagree and have their own theories behind this statement. Afterall, one has all the right to do what works best for you! Yet I never believe one is in too much of a hurry to not have breakfast everyday, if this is your reason, try to set a few alarms to prevent oversleeping or simply just set your alarm a little bit earlier, I’m still human and I know sleep is very very good but also having a proper meal to start the day off will benefit you even more then 10 extra minutes of sleep. For me, I simply can’t go without it because I feel that my brain needs nutrients after a whole night of starving it. I simply feel more energized, my brain functions better and I can wait until lunch time before eating a proper meal again instead of unnecessary snacking. It’s better eating something like fruit/crackers/ nuts as a snack between lunch and dinner when ones body starts to become more drained during the day. 🙌🏽 When you feed your body the right nutrients it will leave you feeling stronger & better about yourself and your surroundings. Over 26 years of working in the military and laboratory setting exposed me to electromagnetic fields (EMFs), radioactive materials, and pesticides. Ok so I try to limit my social media and general phone usage, but before I know it, over use has crept up on me again. Wake up - check it ( after 20 mins me time) Drop the kids off at school - check it In-between clients - check it Pull up at school pick up - check it Home - check it Then there’s the *guilty checks * Time when I should be actively engaging with the kids Kids in bath & bed time - quick check Time with husband - check phone When I visit my mom - check it Pull up at traffic lights - check phone. WTF is that all about?! & other random check times. I’m so sure that phone over use is one of the reason anxiety & depression are on the rise. Lack of face to face interaction or simply having a simple conversation over the phone. No headspace for daydreaming & brain decompression from Information overload. That head space is crucial to process. Just like a computer - overload it with data and it crashes What am i incessantly checking? I honestly don’t know. Does it make me productive? Hell no Does it cause procrastination? Big Yes Does it cause comparitonitis? Yes but very very sneakily. Does it make you feel you’re not enough? Yes, but again sneakily So I’ve tried deleting my apps - but I end up going via the internet & finding it awkward and reinstalling them. I figure I like connecting but how can I manage it better? Going to do an experiment. First I’m gonna go cold turkey - no social media of any kind for 7 days. I have a weekend trip coming up so will see what being present in the moment feels like without sharing with everyone. Delete the apps from my phone. Switch phone in aeroplane mode & check for msgs & missed calls 2 x a day. I want to see what happens in this time period and I’ll report back.
