Sure you can. Is it advisable? Nah, I’d rather use those empty calories for something else. For real food. - 👉You see, liquid calories add up quickly. Like… INSANELY QUICKLY. You want one glass of coke? 150 calories. But heck, who only drinks one glass of coke? Oh there are 500 calories without you even noticing it. - I say, if fat loss is your goal you’d better give up EVERY single liquid calorie other than protein shakes. - Can you swap them for diet coke or a monster ultra? Yes, you can! But I’d rather not include those into this graphic because the internet keyboard warriors will wish me luck with heart attacks and cancer, I’d rather avoid comments like that if you know what I mean…. - Just don’t abuse them, that won’t be good for your overall health. But one or maybe two a day? That won’t kill you. We as of now, just don’t know the long term consequences yet. Just be careful with them. - At the end of the day it’s always better to get in the habit of NEVER drinking any liquid calories anymore, other than protein of course. I legitimately think cutting out ALL liquid calories should be the first step when you’re trying to lose fat. Still consuming some liquid calories? Each pound of bodyfat equals around 3,500 deficit for both genders, but the way one achieves it is a little more difficult than the other. Here’s why: - ✅ Weighing more means more calories burned at any given activity. Because men weigh more at any stage, they’ll burn more calories than women. - ✅ Having more muscle mass is also another reason: number one being the fact that muscle mass is an “active” component of the human body, meaning that to keep it, your body will have to burn calories: up to 6 calories per lb! - ✅ Carrying more muscle means also that you’re probably lifting heavier/more weights! This means again, more calories burned at any given activity, let alone the gym itself. - ✅Another reason and probably one of the most important ones is that because men have higher TDEEs (metabolism) it’s easier to subtract more calories from the diet % wise. For instance, if a man has a 3000 calories TDEE, cutting at 2,500 calories per day (-500 everyday) would equal a lb of fat loss every week. No big deal meal wise because it’s still “enough food”. - On the other hand, losing 1lb per week for a woman means to cut a larger % of the total calories. An average TDEE for women is around 1800-2000 calories, which would equal a consumption of 1300-1500 calories per day for 1lb fat loss/week, and that means a smaaall amount of food. Peace and balance. Don't these two just describe what we want in everyday life?! Both of these oils are essential for my training. Peace is kept close by to help relieve my occasional sore muscles. I will use it when I'm feeling frustrated with my performance, which doesn't happen often but it still does occur. And when it does, one of my favorite places to apply this oil is over my heart. I like being able to just pause, say a prayer and smell the sweet aroma. Talk about a mood changer! It is also kept on my nightstand to help promote relaxation and a sense of calm before bedtime. Balance....it's a daily oil! My current favorite combination is the Rose touch and balance over my heart to start my day. Balance can help with grounding. It helps me keep the chaos at bay and focus on the here and now. I have been self sabotaging myself for years . I finally sat down and really dug deep and asked myself why? Truth is my dad was not the best role model. He never accomplished much..and showed me it was okay to not be successful. It felt fine. I deep down felt not worthy of success. But truth is I AM WORTHY. I developed a reputation of restarting and not following through. I am SOOO done with that. I Struggled. I am not perfect. But my desire was ALWAYS there. Not many will understand my process. Imagine you were having a house built from scratch. You have designed it, you have budgeted for it, you have the planning permission, the foundations are in place and the building work can begin. So on Monday the team are all on site, tools and equipment at the ready. Work gets off to a great start and you can see the progress as the week goes on. However when Saturday comes around you decide to take a sledgehammer to all the hard work done in the week, you quite literally wipe out all the work the builders have done. On Monday they show up and start again from scratch. Then Saturday comes around and you smash it all up again. Its been months now and the house is no further along than week one. Every weekend you just can't help demolishing all the hard work from the week. Now look at the house as your weight loss goal. Are you smashing up all the hard work you do in the week by completely letting go every weekend? We all like a relaxed weekend, however if you are serious about weight loss sometimes you just have to stop yourself completely demolishing your hard work. Yes have a night out, yes enjoy yourself but apply methods that allow you to do so without wiping out all your progress. We can rebuild a few bricks each Monday no problem. Just stop having to rebuild your entire house.

#TossbackTuesday to this early morning full body HIIT workout + mindful meditation that I led for the crew of @mid10nutrition a few months back. _ It was cold as hell, but after a 5-minute warm-up jog followed by a dynamic stretch, they were primed and ready to go. _ I love the fact that @annalock89 reaches out to me specifically for the mindful meditation component, rather than just another physically demanding workout. The fact that she recognized the significance of mental and not just physical investment was impressive, and her intentionality of investing in her team (and therefore the community they serve) speaks volumes. _ Mental health is just as, if not more, important than physical health, yet sometimes there’s a stigma attached to it as if we should all just have it together in that area of our lives. _ But nothing is sustainable that you don’t consistently pour energy into. Now most of y’all know SALMON is my absolute favorite food! (Got my boys loving it too so it’s a staple in our house.) Happy it’s So Rich in Omega 3s. It helps fight inflammation, is Rich in vitamins B1,2,3,5,6,9 & 12, potassium, selenium and the antioxidant Astaxanthin! - just to name a few. 🏋️‍♂️ Carrying on the 💩 technique videos, a movement I see 90% of people getting wrong on the gym floor is the lateral raise. We all know that guy (or gal) who picks up the heaviest dumbbells they can find and starts bouncing up and down at the knees to gain momentum to move them dumbbells up and down engaging literally no lateral deltoid at all. Don’t be that guy put some consideration into your lifts and actual engage the muscle you are targeting. 💪 In my opinion the best way to completely isolate the side deltoid is to attach some cuffs just below the elbows as shown in the video as this completely removes any assistance from the forearms, traps and front deltoids. ————————————— ❌ Don’t overload the weight and lift with momentum, don’t bend forward and don’t lift your arms much further than 90 degrees. ————————————— ✅ Do use a weight you can can control and lift using the lateral deltoids, do keep yourself in an upright position and flare your lats and do turn your pinkie fingers to the sky when raising the weight. ————————————— Be sure to try these out if you can handle the burn 🔥 I personally perform these two times per week, one day light to failure and one day slightly lighter for sets of 12. I’ve found these the most optimal ranges to train in for lateral deltoid development 💪
