So I've been mixing "Hard" training styles(conventional strength programme) with "Soft" training styles(movement,core strength and joint stability). 😅 You know you can't beat "Strong" but i believe you have to be 'Fit for purpose" too, no matter what that is it will involve movement. I have been spending 30 mins on movement and 30-40 mins doing strength work. If you have one to one with me we will start incorporating this in as its important. 💥 #knowgains 🏋️ . . Today's Topic . 💥KNOW - KEYS TO RECOVERY 💥 ———⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's no secret that exercising has many benefits. Yet what so many people seem to forget is that it’s also a stressor. Albeit a good one, but a stressor nonetheless. And while our bodies do need that little bit of stress in order to adapt, which is what allows us to gain strength, build muscle or lose fat, it is a delicate balance. # However, if we don’t balance that stress with plenty of recovery, we get to the point where we exceed our ability to adapt and that’s when things can start to go wrong. Signs that you might be under recovering include constant fatigue, excessive soreness, decreased performance, mood issues, lack of motivation to exercise, increased hunger or cravings, and sleep disturbances. And while it might seem counterintuitive, a lack of recovery can even lead to your physique looking worse as a result of inflammation and water retention. # This becomes even more of an issue if you’re training really frequently or intensely, which so many people fall into the trap of because they believe it’s what will lead to faster results. # So while intense training is fine, it must be balanced with structured periods of recovery. Especially if you are someone who has loads of other stress in your life. # When it comes to recovery, think of it like this. For every intense workout you do (heavy lifting, high intensity intervals, bootcamps, crossfit, long distance cardio) make sure you balance it with at least on, but preferably even two, rest based activities, like the examples I’ve included. # Also, while eating enough protein and not eating too low carb isn’t something physically you can do to promote recovery, it should be something you are incorporating regardless. Protein is required to repair the muscle tissue that has been damaged during intense exercise, and carbs help restore your energy stores so that you can continue training intently, while also mitigating the effects of cortisol. # .

By far, the most requested Daily Food Diary to post is 1200 calories and sometimes 1500 calories. . . 1500 CALORIE MEAL PLAN IDEAS: Personally, I do not snack often between meals and drink LOTS of water. If do, it's normally just fruit or a protein bar. I understand though that some people like to have 5 or 6 smaller meals. It's whatever works for you! . In this Daily Meal Plan, I would personally eat the Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner as shown but.. Instead of the Afternoon snack I would use those calories for extra vegetables at Lunch and Dinner. I would as well have the Mid Morning Snack as my after dinner dessert; yogurt and fruit (one of my fave healthy ;) desserts, with a sprinkle of honey/or granola) OR a 200 calorie Protein bar or chocolate bar. . 10 things I changed to give me a better physique and healthier lifestyle: - - 1. Control over weekend binges- I used to be a “yea but it’s the weekend” guy. - - 2. Stopped training with a classic “bro” split (chest, shoulders, back, legs, arms on different days) - - 3. Became more aware of posture. A bad posture doesn’t look great, but will also cause you long term issues. - - 4. No more food restrictions. I eat the food I enjoy, with control. When I want to lose some extra fat, I tighten things up a bit more. - - 5. I stopped trying to lift the heaviest weight possible, and focused on the targeted muscle and time under tension. - - 6. I make sure I enjoy my training. If I start to get bored, I mix it up. - 7. I stopped worrying about missing a workout. As long as it’s not a regular thing, it’s fine. - - 8. I stopped attaching emotions to food. Food shouldn’t give you guilt. Nor is it something that will make you feel better after a long hard day. (It normally does the opposite). - - 9. I stopped attaching actions to food. A cold day isn’t solved by a hot sausage roll. Going for drinks doesn’t mean I have to get a kebab afterwards. - - 10. I stopped comparing myself to others. Unless you compete in physique or fitness, there is no need. 💥 #knowgains 🏋️ . . Today's Topic . 💥KNOW - HOW TO BUY WEIGHT LOSS 💥 - The weight loss industry in the US alone is estimated to be worth over $68 Billion dollars! What do you really need to buy to be successful though? 🤑 The #1 driver of fat loss is nutrition. Food that supports you eating in a calorie deficit, consuming sufficient protein, getting in plenty of micronutrients & enjoying a treat now & again is the best investment you can make to see results. Hands down. 🤑 After nutrition the biggest piece of the fat loss puzzle is strength training. Investing in a gym membership or some at-home equipment will pay huge dividends. I know this stuff can get pricey, but you can get a solid home set-up fairly inexpensively. Most of my own set-up came from Craig’s list! I have a whole post about setting up a home gym further down my feed. It’ll give you an idea of some good basics to start with & what you can add on later. Check it out:) 🤑 You can absolutely go it alone successfully. That being said, coaching (both for nutrition & training) can help you reach your goals faster & without as much trial & error. I don’t say this just because I am a coach;) I actually have a coach (both for training & for business.) 🤑 The knowledge a coach has is valuable, but even more valuable IMHO, is accountability & support. My clients know that I’m waiting to hear from them about their nutrition. They know I’ll want to know how their workouts went. It’s a powerful thing. Just as powerful is having someone to remind you why you started when you’re struggling or to give you perspective about how far you’ve come when you get down on yourself (Which you will. We all do) 🤑 I can’t think of anything as valuable to the weight loss process as those 3 things👆 I CAN think of a lot of nonsense that will distract you/keep you from putting your time, effort, & $ where it will actually be productive. Here’s a short list: 👎cleanses 👎detoxes 👎waist trainers 👎fat burners Besides wasting your money they take your focus away from what actually works! I stuck this photo up quickly on Saturday not really thinking about it!! But after an amazing weekend & just reflecting back, this photo actually means a lot to me! ———— This was the last photo at the very end of our 17 week cut & photo shoot on Saturday. ———— Jen & I decided way back that we wanted a personal challenge. We work with lots of people who are on their own journey & we wanted to experience the feeling of commitment, consistency & dedication that we ask from our own clients. ———- This was hands down the hardest thing I have ever done! We set the date, committed to it & there was just never a question that we weren’t going to give it our best shot. ———- The whole process taught me so much about myself, about food, about my body, the sacrifices and the repercussions that those sacrifices brought. ———- When energy input is low & output is super high, crazy things happen!! The moods, the cravings, the low energy, disturbed sleep. In the final stages, some days just walking was a challenge!! It was mad that you could look your best but actually at times feel your worst! ———- Going through the process with Jen & doing it together was amazing. That girl is a warrior! Super strong in body & mind & I thank her for keeping me going! ———- We chose Vaughan Wilson to take us through the process. Again, he has been there himself and he was the best man for the job! The guy is super passionate about what he does, he is constantly learning & bettering himself & the time & knowledge he put in to helping us was amazing! His work ethic with his clients & his own training is second to none! Thank you so much Vaughan, you are not only a coach but a good friend! ———- Going forward I’m excited to enjoy my training & getting the flexibility back in my life. Would I do it again!? Kakovosten zajtrk naj bo sestavljen iz beljakovin, kompleksnih ogljikovih hidratov in vlaknin. ✔️ Zadosten vnos beljakovin v vsakem obroku bo na dolgi rok omogočil zmanjšanje maščob v telesu. Če je tvoj cilj zmanjšanje telesne teže in obsega pasu, potem bo najbolj učinkovita stvar pri spremembi prehranjevalnih navad to, da dodaš več beljakovin. Te bodo pospešile delovanje tvojega metabolizma. Telo namreč porabi več časa, da jih prebavi, zato bo v tem procesu porabilo več kalorij. Na tvojem krožniku naj bo več rib, morskih sadežev, jajc, mlečnih izdelkov, stročnic, mesa in oreščkov. 🍳🥜🍗🧀 ✔️ Voda ne bo stopila odvečnih maščob, ti bo pa dala občutek sitosti. Na ta način boš preprečila vnos dodatnih kalorij. Večkrat namreč jemo tudi ko smo žejni. Vedno imej pri sebi kozarec 🥛 ali steklenico vode, tako boš zmanjšala tudi potrebo po pitju sladkih pijač. ✔️ Redna telesna aktivnost bo poleg vseh ostalih prednosti za ohranjanje zdravja vplivala tudi na zmanjšanje odvečne maščobe. Priporočljivo je 3 krat tedensko vključiti trening z utežmi 🏋️‍♀️, saj boš tako spodbudila metabolizem in bo telo začelo uporabljati shranjeno energijo v obliki maščobnih zalog. Pridobila boš več mišične mase, ki porabi več energije kot maščoba v mirovanju, lepše oblikovano in bolj čvrsto telo. Vsakodnevno izvajanje na tisoče variacij trebušnjakov NE bo zmanjšalo maščobe okoli trebuha, saj se te ne izgubljajo lokalno. ✔️ Povišan stresni hormon kortizol ima velik vpliv na kopičenje maščobnih oblog okoli trebuha, zato poskrbi, da imaš stres pod kontrolo in ga poskusi omejiti.

Though I love when people go to the gym, I can see how they don't last more than a month going consistently! I mean they see all these massive individuals (who are most likely enhanced) and are trying to follow a bogus workout plan that is also made by similar people (who are also probably enhanced)! This leads to misconceptions of the gym such as:

1️⃣ Every Workout Has To Be Do or Die - If you're not vomitting or near passing out, you're not trying hard enough!
2️⃣ You Have To Workout 2-4 Hours - Because how else are you going to get a sick pump??
3️⃣ Grunting Is Needed - You know, to lift heavier!

When a new person goes to the gym and sees these things, of course they are going to fall off the wagon within a few weeks! How intimidating is that for anyone! On the other hand, the real truth of the gym is:

1️⃣ Most Workouts Need To Be Intense - Intensity is key, but don't forget to deload probably once every month or so!
2️⃣ 30-45 Minutes - Short, quick, and intense are the most productive and efficient workouts! No texting or selfies! Get in, flip the cap backwards, up the music to 10 and go!
3️⃣ Don't Grunt - You sound like an idiot. Stop. Heavy exhaling is acceptable.

The composition of your weekend weight gain. - If you have over indulged over the weekend and find you've put on weight then don't let it ruin your week! - Avoid the binge cycle by getting back to your routine straight away and not over restricting.

Putting my body through an experiment!! 👇🏾👇🏾 With winter coming I’m bumping up a few KGs, but I’m gonna be having takeout (kfc, maccas, bk, wendys, pizza) whenever I want, without getting silly of course. First gym workout in a long time! 432 calories burnt using: espinner bike, elliptical trainer, rowing machine and weight training💪 Warmed up with kind of HIIT on treadmill - speed walk 2 minute, run at 7.5km for a minute and repeat three times.
