Ever since I went to @levainbakery
in NYC, I’ve been fantasizing about the chocolate chip walnut cookie—the best I’ve ever had. When @tinaeatschicago
posted that she found the perfect recipe, I knew I had to try it (with a few tweaks). The secret to this recipe is 1) a cake flour & all-purpose combo, 2) a brown sugar & granulated sugar combo, & 3) a semi-sweet & dark chocolate chips combo. While nothing is *quite* the same as Levain (it’s required eating in Manhattan), this recipe will KNOCK your socks off. 🍪 // Have you ever been to Levain? Also, any other chocolate chip cookie fans!? #chocolate #chocolatechipcookies #homemadecookies
Our styled Anise Cookies are a common household snack in most households in countries such as Lebanon on a semi-permanent basis. Crunchy, yet not too sweet, fragrant with anise, rather plain, it's usually coupled with a cup of coffee or tea for household visitors! Stop in today to try some of your very own! #StreetSweets

Chanced upon this oyster shack a couple of years back, and it's since been our to-go place whenever we're craving oysters! Situated on the edge of Borough Market, this place is hard to miss! Their oysters are so fresh that you can just have them as they are! (Although they do provide homemade vinaigrette and Tabasco.) Do note that the types of oysters available and their prices vary as they only serve the best of the season. Half a dozen please! 🙋🏻🙋🏻♂️
Surely everyone has had gyoza before, but they might have been overpriced💸 Give these gyozas from @yoshino_london

When my friends told me about a dish called Hong Kan Long (sounds like a Hockien swear word), I laughed my ass off and thought they were joking. They insisted I order it when I go Big Mama. When I arrived, I was still a bit skeptical, and ordered the dish in a shy manner, expecting to get a confused look or scolded by the staff. She took my order and out came this beautiful bowl of soup noodles (same noodles as chao chai mee fen) and it was delicious! I slurped it all up happily. Tomorrow and in future, all shall enjoy this interesting dish called Hong Kan Long!!
I started baking about four years ago in the kitchens of a health food store on Cape Cod. That’s where I learned the basics, like how to use a stand mixer, separate an egg, and make frosting.
When I became pregnant in 2015, I needed a job that would allow me to work from home and have my new baby with me. So I began baking for the farmers markets out of my home kitchen. I had NO idea what I was doing. It was crazy, hectic, expensive, and exhausting. But... there was something about it that I just loved! .
Eventually I was able to troubleshoot a lot of my mistakes, augment my production schedule, and perfect my recipes. I also began to make pie. Lots and lots of pie! That’s when things kicked off, and I’ve been running a veryyy small scale but perfectly robust baking gig from my house, making the occasional wedding or birthday cake and fulfilling pie orders and cookie baskets during the busy summer season. .
Additionally, my partner @keithcarl
and I have been looking for a commercial brick and mortar for Kindred for almost 2 years. We dream of a place to serve coffee and scones and pie and cookies... and more! We are working hard to find the right spot for us, even if it means we leave the Cape. 😢
The wonderful thing about Instagram is that community is with you no matter what. If we move, I hope you’ll continue to follow along and maybe even visit us! I also hope to offer more goodies available by mail, too. So all of this is to say, THANK YOU for supporting, liking, commenting, and SHARING with me these past few years. I will keep you updated on the plans for Kindred Bakery, and I do hope to one day share my baking with you!!!!
