I got to use my grandma’s #lecruset
last night. I am a huge Le Cruset lover. Don’t ask me to pronounce it though. But I was so honored to get to bring my grandma’s sauce pans into my home and fill them with chocolate. She was smiling I’m sure of it.
We made vegan brownies, meaning dairy free, egg free, but these happened to also be gluten free, refined sugar free and almond free. Whew that was a lot. I’m not vegan btw just have a lot of allergies. They were incredible and had a delicious vegan caramel that was poured over the top. I’ll be sharing that cookbook soon because iiiiiiit’s amazing! @nutritionstripped
Plants! Green beans, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, corn, zipper cream peas, thornless blackberries, crosnes, sun chokes, asparagus, rhubarb, cucumbers, hibiscus, fig, pear, peach and plum trees... and dogwood, crepe myrtles and red bud trees planted from tiny twigs sent to us from the Arbor Day Foundation. We usually grow enough to sustain ourselves through the season (not everything makes it) and send friends home with some, but we’re improving every year.

Their cauliflower crust makes it easy to take the traditional pizza and make it work with the way you want live. For us, we like to eat a variety of plants....and that’s all we had in the fridge today. We always have a few jars of @raoshomemade
sauce for lazy Sundays. The toppings were all sautéed while the crusts were browning in the oven. Being efficient will help save time when preparing your own food. Start to finish this took 20 minutes.

One pizza had goat feta while the other had a sprinkle of pecorino romano.
One of us ate the whole pizza while the other, not so much. Delish!!

One of the troubles with allowing your birds to free range is the following:
1. Sometimes and OFTEN they’ll stop laying where they’re supposed to.
2. My dog, Chessie, LOVES eating eggs.
So once every three months... I’ll lock them in their chicken coop for 2 days up to a week. It reminds them that the coop is their “home” and that’s where they need to lay.
I’ve had my ducks for a while now and haven’t been able to get an egg, so I locked her in the coop yesterday, all day. I went to let her out this morning and I was surprised to find two eggs 😊
Duck eggs are great for baking, and often those with egg allergies tend to be able to eat duck eggs.
