This is something I never really understood, until recently. One thing I have learned throughout my life, with all the ups and downs that it comes with. Life really does happen for you, not too you. At the time it may not feel like it, but if you pay attention, there’s something to be learned. You just might end up stronger, smarter, wiser, etc. you get the point lol. One of the biggest (and proudest) challenges I’ve had in my life, was being a U.S. Marine. I know my fellow Marines out there can relate with some of the BULLLLLSSHHHIIIIIT we had to deal with fucking sucked lol. Often times there’s absolutely no fucking reason why we have to go through some of it...at least that I can remember lol...I’m sure there was a reason lol. But through it all, that shit made me mentally tough as fuck. That’s one of the many things I got from the Marines. I’m pretty sure any other Marine, veteran or active duty member, has gotten the same or some other valuable experience as well. Remember, no matter how bad you think the moment is, just know it will pass. Embrace the suck. You never know what good it will lead you to.
I'm going to keep this short. Happy Anniversary, @melsomeness
I'll see you tomorrow 😍
Reflecting on this weekend and I’m noticing growth. Physical, mental and emotional growth.
Sometimes really crappy things happen. Sometimes we dread the early morning cardio and hate not having that dessert at the office. Try and remember this journey is all about the process. When you look back on it you will be happy you did.
Embrace the pain!
Round 2 - day 49/80.
I have been doing this program of @autumncalabrese
’s for over 120 days. I have been living in my house for almost 10 years. Because of the last 120 days, I am for the first time, strong enough to lift myself up into our attic access.
This program has taught me to believe in myself. I can do things harder than I thought possible. I can lift the heavy weights. I can hold myself up in plank. I can do tricep pushups. I can climb around my attic like a spider 🐒 monkey.
But did you die? Not today. And to achieve more tomorrows I am going to keep going.

Worn out after crushing a rowdy chest and tricep workout. We are following @nickbarefitness #embracethesuck
workout. If you haven't tried this, the new 12 week program drops August 1st. Check out Nick's YouTube channel for details on it. I've had great results so far on this program. I swear this is a true testimonial and unpaid so its honest. Down 35 pounds after 8 weeks and looking for another 15 to 20 in 4 more weeks. It's hard but oh so worth the effort and pain.

I had another fantastic Mohican weekend with some of the greatest humans on the planet! The race was super challenging. I knew it would be, but knowing it and completing it are two totally different things. When I ran the MO Marathon last year, I remember thinking, “That was the hardest course I’ve ever run — I cannot even fathom doing TWO loops out there!” So, when it came time to plan out my race schedule for this year, the most challenging thing I could think of to sign up for (within reason, of course) was the Mohican 50 miler. And, let me just say, it did not disappoint! The course is TOUGH (very technical with over 12,000 total feet of elevation change) and the conditions were BRUTAL (upper 80’s with dangerously high humidity)! I saw lots of runners taking a beating out there. Some were throwing up. Others were taking a breather at aid stations. Some were literally laid out along the dirt trail in the middle of the woods. Despite the fact that it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, I still had an amazing time. Words can’t describe my gratitude for the support that I received both on and off the course. I keep saying it but it’s just so true — I have the BEST friends in the world!!! Here are some pictures from the race. I wish I had more pictures, particularly of the people that made this weekend so incredible, but I was too busy enjoying their company to get any pictures. Congratulations to everyone who endured MO! No matter which distance or in what capacity — she’s a BEAST and you’re all rock stars in my opinion!!! Special thanks to Michael and Amy Denner for sacrificing your weekend and for venturing out on the course to find me, not once, but TWICE! And exactly when I needed you the most!! I still get choked up thinking about it. Love you all so much 💚💚💚 #wtfultrarunners #nerdherd #blacksheep #mo50 #ultrarunning #trailrunning #mohicanstatepark #embracethesuck #hotaf #goals #runbeerandbs #runallthemiles

Just ran a mile after not running consistently since my marathon and boy was it tough. Not gonna lie! Did three sets of exercises and then went and ran a mile in the heat. The best part about it is my little buddy wanted to exercise and run with me!
20 walking lunges
10 dumb bell rows
15 second plank
30 jumping jacks

I’ve recognized this over the years but over the last year - year and a half I’ve really learned to embrace it. It makes it a lot easier in life and in business to be able to recognize that the struggle is going to happen, you will be defeated and that’s ok. Keep pushing💪

race number 2 went great yesterday morning! First place finish in the 20-25 age group! Congrats to everyone who raced over the weekend!
• My sighting on the swim felt the best it ever has....finally didn’t swim way off course😂
played a friendly game of tag on the 12 mile bike course...Thanks for pushing me to put in more effort on the bike, Jaime!
• The run was rather swampy due to the lovely SC humidity, but managed to smile through it and #embracethesuck
Quick mile on heavy legs followed by 2x400m (phone died on me during last 400). .
Finished it off with 5x wind sprints (15yard up/back + 10 burpees + 20 yard up/back) and a mile jog. #getsome #whoarewe
Alright. The reps are lower this week so increase the weight. Rest time between sets of 4 is 2 mins, 10 is 1 min, 8 is 30 secs and 20 is no rest. This workout took a little more than 1 hour.
Quit trying to skip the hard shit.
The struggle you're currently experiencing serves a major purpose...and contrary to what you may be thinking...that struggle is not to annoy you.
Your struggle is your bootcamp.
Your struggle is your teacher.
Your struggle is your mentor.
Your struggle is what will ultimately deliver the life you desire.
Your struggle is what forges your skills, strength & fortitude to progress and prepare for your future success.
So many of you are looking for the "easiest" way...and by doing so you are denying yourself the progression & development you will absolutely need to handle real success.
Quit looking at your struggle as something to fear...
Start looking at your struggle as something to embrace.
Quit being ashamed of your struggle...
Start celebrating it!

NLM—-Next Level Mindset ⬆️ In order to take any aspect of your life to the next level, you have to have the right mindset. Most people always find the negative in every single day. I always choose the positive. When something goes wrong it’s an opportunity to learn. Take chances in life. They all will not go right, but you will always get better. We were built to survive, not thrive. That is why only 1% of the human population ever truly taps their true potential. I have heard the top is pretty empty. Not sure yet I’m still climbing. One thing I know is the bottom is crowded, and I don’t like crowds. #embracethesuck #pressureisaprivilege #visionisimportant #mindsetiseverything #nextlevelmindset #gogetyours #thebottomiscrowded #idontlikecrowds
I finally passed my NASAA qualification law exam! I didn’t do so well the first time but never gave up and studied for 6 months straight! A big motivation for me was hearing my grandfathers story of how he had to leave his family in Portugal to search for work; first he went to Africa then France and then to the USA. He was working 15 hour days for years just to provide for his family and give them a better life. Ever since I heard his story I am more determined then ever to do what I set out to achieve, no matter what! #embracethesuck @davidgoggins
