ICEREAM SWAP 🍨 - is it really worth the trade?! "Nice" cream has become increasingly popular as an ice cream replacement. Most nice cream is made using frozen bananas 🍌, which means it contains a serving of fruit. However, nice cream comes with a similar amount of calories and sugar per 1/2 cup serving as real ice cream.
You could argue that natural sugar from a banana is better than added sugar...which is somewhat true. Though during digestion our body really can't tell the difference- sugar is sugar. Also, calling it "nice" cream makes ice cream sound like it's a "bad" food. In our opinion, there are no bad foods. A serving of REAL ice cream gives you calcium, protein, and most importantly SATISFACTION! 😋
Bottom line: if you want real ice cream, eat it! If you want "nice" cream, eat it! Just be aware that some swaps aren't as healthy as you might think. Plus- if you don't feel satisfied after eating "nice" cream, odds are you will then reach for the real deal...which takes away from the whole point of nice cream in the first place!🙋🏻💁🏼♀️ Which one would you choose? •

However, I’m not going to lie I didn’t finish. I’m extremely nervous about tomorrow as it is my assessment day at the ED Clinic. It’s going to be such a long day which means I have to once again explain EVERYTHING. It’s not great attempting to explain why you think and feel the way you do to a stranger. But oh well 🤷🏻♀️ if it’s the way to get the help I need, I have no choice ! Anyway... dinner details ..... baked hake in a tomato, olive and onion sauce with veg and spinach. My husband despairs of me sometimes! What did I want after my 10 mile race? A wholemeal baguette, no butter with lean bacon and any fat cut off. He told me to go and order it myself!! 😂. And the chef did exactly what I wanted and with a drizzle of mayo and ketchup it was just what I fancied and it was sooooo good! Fast food doesn’t have to be crap food!!

It’s really quite simple, and what we’ve known all along... more nutrient dense, real food and less garbage. Once we stop putting the unhealthy and chemical filled choices in our bodies we stop craving them. And once we take the time to prepare and cook healthy and flavorful dishes, it becomes easier to prioritize what we fuel our bodies with. .
