“Trust your heart if the seas catch fire, live by love though the stars walk backward. - e.e. cummings // If you had told me I’d find so much joy and contentment in this North Florida city, I’d probably have scoffed. But it turns out where the South meets the sea is just what our little family craved. We traded in our city existence for a slower paced life and it feels right for us at this point. I grew up boating and maritime life feels like home. Freshly caught fish, the smell of the sea, the sound of palm trees in the wind, and warm, salty air suit us pretty perfectly. So I’m thinking more and more now about taking leaps, trying new things, doing the crazy thing you’re questioning. So far in my experience, if you listen to your gut, seek silence to hear your intuition, and follow your heart — you’ll know where to go. And if it’s not the right destination? Then you just haven’t arrived yet. Keep seeking. Keep going. Keep searching for your place under the sun. 💛

Yesterday we talked increasing your LDL resistance via antioxidant consumption. Black cabbage (kale!) and red cabbage are two superstars when it comes to decreasing cholesterol, especially bad oxidized LDL cholesterol!
❤️Happy Memorial Day Weekend💙
Proud to say I am only 10 pounds away from my first goal weight AND the dress I chose for the wedding that I tried on 2 weeks ago was one size too big, going from a large to a medium! Best feeling ever 😊

BURN FAT WITH FAT 🔥⚡️ There’s a reason we love avocados in the morning. And there’s a reason they love us back. Avocados contain monounsaturated fats which are classified as a “good” source of fat. But what does that even mean? Fats are digested slowly, meaning energy is given over greater course of time. The fats we consume help stimulate fat metabolism, our ability to use our already existing fat stores for energy as well! Those avoiding fats and keeping on a low fat diet could be having a harder time when it comes to burning body fat !! So what do you do to help keep this fat metabolism up without over consuming calories. TRACK THEM ✅ Eating healthy, calorie dense fats like nuts, seeds, avocado or cheese can eventually add up if you’re not careful. Whilst you’re still learning, use a tracking app like MyFitnessPal to become aware of how much is enough. I always recommend 40-50g a day keeping in mind every has different energy demands 💥

So this is 💕Krista, who I was/have been going on about. I was telling you guys about my trip with her and sharing my adventure with her because this is someone I connect with on a level with my passion. We learn more and more everyday, and with Krista ... she teaches me new things as well. She in a way is like my holistic mentor. I must say I have a solid group of girls in my life and each of them bring something out in me. I am truly blessed to have the girl squad I have. But any ways, I had such an amazing time out in Sag Harbor, where if you ever get the chance to visit. The village is so cute, with so many cute shops. We got to do piyo, have bestie date night by the water thanks to her loving Fiance Kyle 💗 ( we have the sweetest men) and we got vegan ice cream soft serve at this local shop called “Buddah Berry” right in town. They had hundreds of healthy clean toppings. It was AMAZING ✨. Oh and last thing.. if you ever get to check out Sag harbor, stop by and grab a donut and a coffee at their shop @grindstonecoffeeanddonuts
. ( I broke my no coffee rule this weekend btw 😳 they serve @stumptowncoffee
which is my fav coffee) the menu is out of this world as well, they have lavender lattes, GELATO, and all the most scrumptious donuts. So proud of my friends 💗 Hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. 🙏🏻✨
More pesto chicken using butter lettuce to eat it like a wrap, and I can’t get enough of these oven roasted Brussels sprouts that are tender on the inside but potato chip crispy on the outside. #ilovebrusselsprouts #saladforlunch #eatingwell
I'm officially in heaven with using this scallion ginger sauce on just about everything. Here is the recipe for scallion ginger sauce:
2 c. Thinly sliced scallions
1/2 c. minced ginger
1/4 olive or avocado oil
1 T. Liquid aminos
1 t. Apple cider vinegar
1.) pulse all in a food processor a few times or just stir to combine.
2.) use as a sauce with veggies, quinoa or noodles. Enjoy!! Pictured here is quinoa, avocado and quick pickles. Yummmmm.
Wow... 😅.... something funky happened with my phone last night!... I actually don’t keep pictures... I am always “spring cleaning”!... I throw away (per our regulations of course!) old documents at work, I get rid of clothes... I don’t have more than 3 pictures framed in my home, I clear my emails immediately, texts... once I feel we’re done talking, I delete the convo..my phone apps are color coded like my closet... and my phone rarely exceeds more than 600-700 pictures saved and every so often I clear it down to 300! I don’t know why 🤷🏻♀️... but, this morning I woke up to 1500 pics on my phone!... they must’ve recovered from my cloud? Who knows!... so I’m just gonna leave this little gem that showed back up on my phone right here... #tbt
to my very First National show back in 2015! And the last show I did before I came back in 2017 😅.. I’ve done a total of 3 national shows and 6 NPC shows. I started in 2014, continued into 2015, took all of 2016 off and came back 2017! 😅
Healthy tasty snack 😋and super quick to make. Great for 📺 movies or a game! 😊
One of my favorite pasta dishes😊 And you can make it in 15 minutes!
I bought the prawns ready cooked so I just cooked the pasta al dente, drained it (left a little of the water in the pot with the pasta), & added chopped tomato, the prawns, baby spinach, olive oil, salt, pepper, herbs and lime😍.
I mixed it all and left it with the lid on for 3-5 minutes on simmer.
On how you can control your body fat without being on a diet.
Dieting is for the birds 🐦, it sucks big time. Whether you’re eating crab sticks and lettuce for 5 days or choosing to go down the latest Keto train, it’s far from fun.
What IF I was to tell you that you could still eat the foods you enjoyed and control your body fat with just a few modifications, would you do it? Lemme explain.
First, there’s a difference between eating for fat loss and eating for other reasons. Fat loss eating isn’t a free for all where you can just eat all the fat and calories you want, even if they’re deemed “healthy.” Prime example, this last month my diet has not been for fat loss, meaning my protein has been a bit lower, my calories a bit higher and my fat intake well above my normal range and as a result, my weight and fat levels have gone up. No biggie, I think it’s perfectly fine to do this.
I do think it’s important to cycle and not always stay in a fat loss mindset. Just like the body, the mind needs a break too and my hope is you take it. It doesn’t mean you’re less than or not strong enough, sometimes it’s purely needed for our sanity! My suggestion during moments like this is not to fight it. Lean into the organic rhythm of your body and allow it to do its thing, even when you don’t like it.
Okay, so what IF you’re trying to drop a little fat and lean out? Here’s a few of my tips:
💥 Eat more protein. Find ways to get it in! Add some protein powder to your Greek yogurt or some cottage cheese to your pancakes. Protein has a natural way of making you satisfied and decreases hunger. Plus, protein is very hard to convert to fat, so don’t worry about it.
💥 Get your carbs from veggies and some fruits on your non-training days. Skipping carbs on non workout days will give you some wiggle room for fat loss without having to over think it. Now, just don’t go eat a stick of butter instead!
💥Most obvious: don’t buy crap! Seriously, get rid of it if you know you have a tendency to overeat or sneak some extras in. Remove the temptation and you’ll feel better off you did. Sometimes willpower just goes out the window so leave it behind! ❤️
Normal cous cous is a big no-no for me, but giant cous cous is a whole different ball game! I love to throw it in salads because I'm a carb fiend. My favourite way of eating it (as shown in pic) is to mix with chickpeas and spring onions and mix with a dressing of grated garlic, peanut butter and mango dressing from supermarket. I then just mix with any veggies or salad I have in the fridge! 🥕
I am using chapati flour for my “Natural yeast” بالنسبه لي افضل استخدام طحين الجباتي للخميره الطبيعيه ❤️
