Who’s ready to meet our Lost and Found film geek?
Max was born and raised in Santa Monica, California to Diego and Eva Marquez. Max’s birthday is February 12th, and he has an older brother, George.
Max is a quiet, tortured artist who prefers to be behind the scenes in most situations. Sarah has been his best friend since she moved into the house next door when they were 4. They were a natural yin and yang pairing, perfectly balancing Max’s shyness and Sarah’s exuberance. They pretty much do everything together.
Max has always been enchanted with the film industry, being exposed to it from a young age. He looks to directors like Hitchcock, Scorsese and Ron Howard for inspiration. While he loves a blockbuster, it’s the art of cinema that moves him.
Max’s father was born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated to America with his parents when he was 2. He grew up undocumented, worked incredibly hard, went to college and started directing short films. Max’s mother was born in America to Mexican immigrants. She, too, had drive and ambition and became a doctor. The two met, fell in love and got married. Eva became one of the top oncologists in the country, and Diego became a successful indie filmmaker.
When Max was 16, both his parents tragically died. Much of who Max was forever changed that day. He distanced himself from most social situations, and even pushed Sarah away until she forced him to move into her house for a while.
Max struggles with the pain of this loss, but uses it to fuel his determination for success. Mostly, Max is just a big sweetheart.
