Beautiful things don’t ask for attention.
Hot summer days, rock ‘n roll... A glass of wine by the Danube Docks.
And all the ways I got to know, the roads from deak to the Balaton 🎼 .
What’s the city you miss the most today? #missingthis #budapest #tbt
The castle in Hungary, in the city of Székesfehérvár was built by Jenő Bory (1879-1959), who was a sculptor and architect, a professor of sculpture at the College of Fine Arts and that of architecture at the Technical University Budapest. He followed his own plans and imagination, and raised this special castle through 40 summers. It is a memory of his eternal love for his wife and his artistic dreams. Jenő Bory bought the land of the castle where there was only a press house and a wine vault among grape and fruit trees in 1912. He enlarged the press house to an accommodation and developed a studio above it. He only started building the castle itself after the First World War, when he could afford it from the fee of his sculptural orders. He continued building the castle, elaborating details and doing reconstruction works after the Second World War until his death. He mainly worked alone relying on his own two hands and resorted to occasional help only a few times. He was a qualified architect, but instead of factual plans he followed his imagination and adapted to the topography of the land. The slowly growing walls, the shapes of the towers and the areas surrounded by them are all the result of the same artistic idea as the statues. This way, the Bory-castle is nothing else but a sculptural work of art with architectural forms and sizes.

Today was a travel day,
so here's a photo from one of our favorite drives. Riding in the North requires taking it slow and making many, many stops along the way. We finished about five hours of driving between Cao Bang (can't wait to share the awesome waterfall photos from here) and Bao Lac. Because of a road closing, we ended up on a wayyy curvier road than expected, came within inches of the China border and got in a little scuffle with some gravel, but the villages we went through were worth the anxiety. Excited to see what more northern Vietnam has in store. ⛰🛵#Zelda
Explored Skull Island on our Trang An boat tour. Ninh Binh was home to the movie set of Kong: Skull Island and is now a fun, interactive little island, complete with live actors. 🦍⛰🛶
Cho shama sozan cho zaraa hairan,
Hamesha giryan be ishq an meh.
Tossed and bewildered, like a flickering candle,
I roam about in the fire of love.
Na nind naina na ang chaina,
Na aap aaven na bhejen patiyan,
Sleepless eyes, restless body,
neither comes she, nor any message.
Ke daad mara gharib Khusro.
In honour of the day I meet my beloved
who has lured me so long, O Khusro!
Sapet man ke varaye rakhun,
Jo jaye paun piya ke khatiyan.
I shall keep my heart suppressed
if ever I get a chance to get to her trick. -Amir Khusrow
