I don't do excuses. Instead I listen to people smarter than me, take what I've learned and apply anything that will help me improve my life. The smaller steps are sometimes harder when the goal is long-term, but everything you do is 100% up to you. When I get set back I find other ways to push harder. Discipline and knowledge create freedom in so many different ways.

17 days...and the month isn’t even over. This is how many days that I have worked out this month. This is how many days that I made it a priority to make ME a priority.
While this might not seem like much to some, and by no means is it perfect, but this is HUGE for me. I am constantly putting others needs in front of mine. I LOVE being the one that people call when they need something. But we have to take care of ourselves before we can take care of others!! What’s different about this “me” now versus in the past?!? Accountability!! I have a tribe of amazing women that help keep me in check and motivate me!! Not just one...but a TRIBE!!! Because let’s face it, we all need different motivation for different days.

Tried a Keto dinner for the family today and it was awesome. Kinda took a couple of different recipes for stuffed bell peppers and made my own. By my rough estimation, it was around 500 cal and 1-2g net carbs per serving (1 Pepper). Anyways, kinda shocked it turned out so well
6 bell peppers, 1lb ground meat, lot of extra virgin olive oil (probably too much). A lot of cheddar (can’t have too much cheese) and some pieces of bacon. 30 minutes at 350 and then another 15 at 350 until cheese was brown. Next time I’ll add more meat (probably 2lbs of meat and do it with my venison), less olive oil and throw in some other veggies as well (for the rest of the fam)
To me, it’s important that folks realize they don’t have to be “boring” on Keto (although I’m pretty boring normally. But that’s me). They can trick it up and have different flavors. In fact, once I got rolling on Keto and away from sugar and grains, my palette changed completely. So many things that I previously didn’t like, I now enjoy. Like coffee! Anyways, experiment and try new things and HAVE FUN! We are all on this program to get more out of life. So, truck it up a bit

today after church because the fam likes sandwiches. Found a Keto option. Buffalo shredded chicken, lettuce and provolone cheese with extra virgin olive oil. “I can’t follow the plan when I eat out or go out with people.” 🤔🙄. Got to stay disciplined and work at it. Btw, I LOVE @franksredhot
it makes the perfect add on to add flavor for any Keto meal. 625 calories. 2g net carbs.

5 days before my son’s 10th birthday, he asked to join me in doing the Murph:
- Run 1 mile - 100 pull-ups - 200 push-ups
- 300 squats
- Run 1 mile
...in a 20-pound weight vest
Due to injuries, I had to put my ego aside and do it with a 10-pound vest, and modify to jumping pull-ups.
But... Maximus was a warrior the whole way. As soon as he heard the story of LT. Mike Murphy, for whom this workout is dedicated, and his sacrifice to our country, Max was ALL IN.
Smiled and even told me halfway through “I love this!” I love this kid and his amazing sister, too. I’m proud of both of my Warrior Kids...and grateful that they understand what Memorial Day weekend really means.

I will let you in on a secret. You don’t need to meal prep to be successful with your nutrition! 😱
I know it can be intimidating to see all these posts with perfect looking meals & containers filled fridge. While meal prep is one way to make it. It isn’t the only way. I don’t remember the last time I meal prep myself! And eating brocoli, chicken & rice on repeat isn’t my definition of success. On the other hand if something is important to you. It does make sense to formulate a plan for yourself. It’s like your fitness routine if you wait to see how the week goes and how the mood strikes you probably won’t achieve your goals. But if plan it in your schedule, commit to a plan things are going to happen. ***
Define what success is to you. Is it packing your lunch this week to work? A home cooked meal 3 nights this week. 8 servings of vegetables a day? Protein at every meal? Whatever that looks like once you define it you can plan for it. ***
For me the plan is as simple as picking out recipes and grocery shopping. If I have the right food available to me I know I will make good choices. For the time pressed the plan may include getting your groceries delivered or using a meal service for week day lunches. But it all starts with defining success for yourself and creating a plan to help you succeed. No need to spend hours in the kitchen making ahead gourmet meals for the week.
It’s Sunday! Go out an enjoy your day. My menu is set, groceries are boguet and now it’s time for the Sea to Sky hike. Cheers!
